Uitstekend ontbijt.
Verblijf in echt kasteel, niet namaak maar authentiek.
Gesitueerd in een prachtig park.
De badkamer was redelijk, maar de douche typisch ouderwets Brits. Het verblijf in een kasteel is natuurlijk geweldig, dus dit neem je op de koop toe.
Mooie entourage. Prachtig gemeubileerd. En mooie ligging. Een unieke ervaring en zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken.
Tip: ben je niet 100% mobiel, kies een kamer op de binnenplaats. Het kasteel heeft veel trappen en gangen.
Het ontbijt. Niet het eten zelf maar de prijs. Het betreft een leuk ontbijt menu, MAARR wil je iets extra's, zoals bijvoorbeeld pap, moet er een pond extra betaald worden. Voor deze prijs € 28,- p.p. zou je alles inclusief verwachten. Doet een beetje "vreemd" aan.

Great place
This was our second stay here - we were here last March - so we knew what to expect, and we weren't disappointed. The castle itself is wonderful, with plenty of rooms and corridors to explore, and the grounds it is set in are lovely. We had lots of sunshine while we were there which made it even nicer. All the staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. We recognised quite a few from our last stay, though there were some new faces too. A big shout out especially to Dean on reception. Very friendly and happy to talk with you if he wasn't busy. Once again we saw the castle's famous cat, Poppet, who has free run round the castle and the grounds. It's a perfect place for her with much to explore and lots of different faces to make a fuss of her. The meals are lovely, all well cooked and rather large portions too. We will undoubtedly be staying here again in the future. Highly recommended.

The character of the property interesting
My husband found the uneven floors rather tricky, although the lift was useful.
Friendly staff, great location, lovely grounds which we walked all around. The Castle externally is very well maintained. Lots of Hot Water, room was warm and heating controllable. Food and wine were excellent.
It is very tired, could do with a deep clean and full redecorating. I know it is 600 years old and parts of of should look like it's 600 years old and that it is part ofvits charm. However, the rooms and bathrooms could be updated with a lick of paint and a refresh, whilst still being in the style of the Castle, without it going down a modern contemporary look.
The setting, architecture, grounds, comfort, friendly and professional staff and food. The hotel has tremendous character from its age and history and I'd highly recommend the former stables rooms outside the main castle building. Sympathetic, welcoming and very comfortable design and the flower-laden window boxes and baskets in the courtyard outside are a delight for gardeners. The whole place is beautifully maintained and immaculately clean and polished. Outstanding and memorable.

Large room. Comfy bed. It's not a modern 4* hotel so don't expect perfection, a very old building with limitations that come with that. A perfect antidote to modern minimalism.
We were in room 66. No one asked about mobility issues which would be helpful. We could do the spiral staircase, though challenging with bags, but others might not. When booking it might be worth asking about room accessibility.
