Definitely a worthy stay
Pros:

The restaurant food was excellent, for both breakfast and evening meal. The staff were all friendly and offered to help with luggage etc. Nothing was too much trouble

Pros:

Amazing place to stay

Cons:

Our room was exceptionally small and although the castle maybe 600 years old and is beautiful the rooms need modernising

Pros:

Lovely grounds and castle is gorgeous

Staff are at expected level for a 4 star hotel

Cons:

Food is surprisingly subpar for what is being charged and presented on the menu

Some of the dishes could literally be done better in your local pub for half of the price

Pros:

Lovely room in a grand looking castle. Good facilities. Very clean all round. And, of course, a resident cat like all good castles should have.

Cons:

No EV charging. Mind you, the nearest is only a 10-minute walk back to the castle.

Very pleasant stay in an interesting quirky place.
Pros:

Location is good, room was quirky, castle is interesting and you are able to explore (within reason).

The toilet being through a wardrobe was a particularly amusing feature.

The library bar was a nice place to sit and was good value for money. The breakfast was exceptional value for money and very enjoyable.

I would recommend to anyone and would go back.

Cons:

Whilst the room was quirky and we had no issues there were a few things that would polish things off. This is nit picking and was absolutely no issue for us however may have an effect on other guests.

The bed was very much a feature bed and was fine for my partner and I, however anyone taller than 5ft7 would likely not fit. I am sure this is something that staff would take into consideration when allocating rooms.

Minor gripes such as phone cords which were not pinned to walls and just lying loose which may present trip hazards to guests with mobility/vision issues.
