This was an excellent value for the price - the room was spacious and clean, the property was quiet. There was a beautiful view with a balcony. I could not have been happier with my experience!
Everything was fine even better as it was there for longer
Good
Nice family owned spot.
Great sleep
There were dirty socks left in the room. Other than that, everything was nice.
When we initially arrived and went to the office for check in you could tell the person checking us in wanted nothing more than to not be there just based on the attitude and responses to my questions. We went to the room and the only issue at first was the smell, it was musty like the doors had been left open and everything was humid/moist inside. The rooms are very dated but that's not a big deal when you're staying someone for the sake of a bed and shower.
That said... if there were other hotel rooms available that evening we would've left. When we went to lay down, we pulled back the covers and fluffed the pillows up just to find several hairs in the sheets. I mean several. Long blonde/grey hairs, short black hairs... at first we thought maybe it was from the housekeeper but kept finding different shades/lengths. I ended up laying down some of my fiancé's clothes and wrapped the pillow in one of his shirts so I could lay down.
It was just run down and felt dirty. I wouldn't stay there again.
Why put me in middle of groups of boaters when 3 4th of hotel empty in low, low season?
Generators, in and out,
I like it so much
I’m very disappointed with this place.Thy don’t allow to fishing. The common areas was very dirty and without maintenance. The room was with strong humidity and the carpet is to old.Only we like the food and service in the Restaurant
It was great
I will stay here again. Good value. One of the biggest rooms I have ever stayed in.
Everything was dated and I would have been ok with that, the problem was the mosquitos. I have never been bit that much at one time in my entire life. Invest in some CO2 traps or something would be my advice, unless you want death by mosquito avoid this place.
Pretty good
my room had a poison spray for the bed bugs,my grankid got bitten during the night,i don't know why would they leave a poison spray inside a room telling you that there's bed bugs inside the room, that's a bad service
Close to all the activities we wanted to do. Older property but room was big and comfortable.
Love Sugarloaf Lodge,a part of the Keys ,how it used to be, close to KW,always a peaceful place to stay & enjoy.
Great stay. Only thing is there is no coffee maker in the rooms but there was coffee in the tiki area downstairs. Pool was nice too!
This is an older, family-owned property with great views in a prime location. It was a good central location for my family and I to explore. That being said, the housekeeping here leaves alot to be desired. At checkout, I was only offered apologies and excuses. To name a few, we found a plastic bottle cap under the fitted sheets, food in the fridge from previous guests, and don't bother to look under the beds. The staff is friendly and were accommodating with requests such as towels.
The bar/restaurant was great. There was a mini fridge in the room that we found helpful. Otherwise the room is outdated.
