The history, the facilities and basically everything about this hotel.

We stayed here for one night after our transatlantic flight (and taxi ride from LHR) to connect with the Eurostar to Paris the next day. So the location literally attached to the St Pancras train station is ideal. The room was very nice and comfortable. The bar was lovely and was thankfully open late enough that we could have some drinks and bar food for supper after our very late arrival. Don't worry about the trains being noisy, they're electric and nearly silent. Nice hotel, very classy.
No issues. There was no view out our 7th floor room window except of the adjacent St Pancras train station roof (which is fine for one night).

From start to finish everything was spot on. The staff are exceptionally kind and friendly, going out of their way to help us get taxis, tickets etc. nothing was too much trouble. We went to see the architecture and the history of this beautiful building, we were not disappointed.
I know it was Monday morning, but our breakfast girl wasn't particularly happy. Had to keep asking for water, I know it's a hard job, but everyone who serves the public should put on a happy face.

Only negative was no mirror near the desk in the room so unable to sit down and style hair with hairdryer
The location is in the station so excellent for when you get off the train with your luggage. Just walk right down to the end upstairs. The hotel itself is very inviting and clean and friendly. The staff were lovely and were very helpful in the main. Beautiful reception/bar area - lots of light and space. Our room was in Barlow House and was a deluxe King room so we did have plenty of space. Comfy bed. Nice bathroom. Our view was of the British Library so not bad at all. We did enjoy our 2 night break.
I raised a small problem on checking out and it was completely ignored. Receptionist couldn't even apologise for it. I expected more to be honest. I would also like a kettle in the room for making tea. Coffee machines don't really make tea. The water comes through the same spot as the coffee so you always get remains of the last coffee in the water. Not the fault of the hotel, it's the machine but a kettle would solve this. Not sure if you would have provided one if I asked.

Restored architecture. Good food. The Booking Office was a lovely location for breakfast and lunch. Champagne welcome.
Being very picky, the doors to the kitchens were left open while being painted. I'm sure it was only a temporary issue.

I was on the 6th floor on the windward side of the building for my night’s stay; not at all the property’s fault or anything that could be addressed but that particular night there was torrential rain and a fierce gale which seemed to blow perpendicular to the wall causing it to creak and wail like the timbers of an old Napoleonic ship. It kept me awake for a while until the wind abated.

My fruit cocktail was very fresh and delicious, fresh grapefruit juice and superb vegetarian breakfast, they even managed to get my poached eggs to perfection and a generous helping of smashed avocado!

The shower head in the bathroom, it was of a poor design, with the water not spraying directly at you but to the side and the hose did not allow for it to be straightened. Would not have expected such a poor design in a hotel of this calibre, and the cost of the room
