Let me start by stating that the first impression in the entrance was good. The lobby looked very nice and didn’t appear to be dirty. I had a good feeling about the rooms, but I was sadly mistaken.
The rooms were the filthiest I have ever seen, and that is saying a lot. There was just filth everywhere. The bathroom was vomit inducing, with feces in the corners and hair all under the sink, pink and black mold all through the tub. Just disgusting.
We could feel tiny crumbs, like sand, all over the sheets. My daughter found a big chunk of what appeared to be waffle stuck to the comforter. It was honestly unsettling and if we hadn’t been so exhausted I would have packed us all up and left.
I will have nightmares about this room. I should have taken more pictures, but it was making me sick thinking about how we slept in the filth all night, so I stopped after a few. Never again.
Liked the location.
Bathroom was not cleaned properly. Mold growing in the shower grout and the toilet was leaking from the back.
TLDR: actual room and hotel is great for families, but don’t bother unless you get the top floor
Pros:
- One of the few hotels near Hershey that offers family suites with an actual partition that closes between the bedroom and living area
- Large suite with plenty of space to spread out. Ours also had a fridge, microwave and extra sink
- Minor wear and tear in the rooms (broken outlet in the bathroom, wallpaper ripped), but overall no complaints
- Comfy beds
- Digital key, so you don’t have to go to the front desk for check-in or check-out
- Free breakfast (nothing spectacular, but the kids loved the waffle maker)
- Easy drive to HersheyPark
Cons:
- Insane amount of noise from the hallways and above. We requested the third floor but didn’t get it, so we heard kids running around and stomping until 2 am every night. Even two noise machines couldn’t drown it out, and you can also hear the plumbing constantly. DO NOT stay here unless you get the third floor or you will not sleep at all.
- The pool was broken. The air felt like 100 degrees, and the water felt like a sauna. I got a skin rash from the heat
The convenience to Hershey attractions.
The price was high for the accommodations provided.
Breakfast
Bathtub was rusty, refrigerator was literally a block of ice and was jammed into a cupboard
Nothing.
Everything.
Great location. Friendly staff.
Way overpriced for the room
The hotel did have a breakfast we had a quick one the first AM standard warm self- serve breakfast liked the scones. The second am we had a later breakfast out. Staff was friendly, though at first the lady at the desk gave us the wrong room key. She quickly fixed it
I thought our room had 1 queen bed off in another room via the pictures, But overall the queen suite was roomy though more narrow sitting room in front, but had its own TV.
Potato waffle etc.
All good
Location, rooms. Price
The pool was closed, I was not notified. The selection at breakfast was cold, tasteless and the food area was not kept clean. The serving utensils should not have old food on them.
It was the perfect location for my needs
The pool and hot tub were down
This location was perfect for what we came to do. We traveled 20 mins for the farthest point, everything else was within 10 mins drive, and that's impressive for PA, because everything is usually, "down the road a piece". The breakfast had a lot of varieties to choose from, enough to satisfy most. The 24/7 coffee station was a great bonus as well. We had an issue with our room upon arrival which was quickly rectified by Sasha within the hour. New room, bigger and very quiet. We were locked out Saturday night, which we stayed until Sunday, but the Housekeeper was right there and let us in. The Front Desk quickly restored our keys. Parking was very convenient to the side entrance of the building where our room was. Sliding doors helped while we carried all of our things in. We did not use or see the pool, so we can't comment on that.
We didn't know we had to request Housekeeping Services everyday. We left the first day, came back around 7pm and our beds weren't made, or towels replenished. I called the front desk, and they informed me that it's upon request. Still our beds weren't made but one day, not the end of the world, my husband made them. We did get towels and new garbage bags.
