Beautiful very nice people the view of the lake Atitlan the town everything was beautiful
I love the view feom the hotel to the lake and the volcano and i didn't like the poorly transportation option. And is faraway from the center of the city
the perfect place to stay. the view was amazing, the area is great; everyone super nice. check in was smooth and they even take your bags for you. breakfast is delicious
Beautiful hotel, excellent staff and gorgeous grounds. The restaurant wasexcellent as well. We originally booked a place in San Marcos but the bathroom was not private or close. Santa cataria was much more peaceful. And the pools were wonderful.
The food is bad the hotel is really nice and also at checking out they try to scam you to pay 100 dollars more
This hotel is the best! The view on Lake Atitlan is beautiful! The hotel is well located, easy to access, comfortable, clean, excellent wifi, very helpful staff. We loved our stay at Villa Santa Catarina.
Great
This was a beautiful hotel very close to the lake. There was a couple things that were walkable nearby but for the most part, it would require a 15 minute ride to do anything else that would be my only complaint outside of my bed being very hard. The staff was great. The food in the hotel was a little inconsistent. I ordered the same breakfast on two different days. One day it was amazing the second time I ordered it I was really unhappy with it. Staff and presentation at the restaurant made up for it. They really cared and we’re very sweet.
Amazing property with nice amenities. The view from the room was spectacular. No AC in the room. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quiet and private stay.
This is a beautiful location and the hotel is picturesque. The pool was the highlight for my two children, especially the thermal pool. While we had a nice stay, I think it is important for other families to know that the rooms are small and the "semi-matrimonial" beds are even smaller. They are not meant for two adults, at least not comfortably. What was most upsetting was that once we saw the size of the beds, we requested a separate roll-away to be brought in and they said it would be a charge of $20/night. This was never disclosed to us, even though when we made the reservations we specified that we were 4 people (2 adults and 2 children). I asked why the posted sign in the lobby stated the charge was $15, but they still insisted on charging $20 per night for the one bed. Management did not seem to hear my suggestion. While we enjoyed our stay and the restaurant staff was wonderful, we were disappointed in the extra charge and lack of response from management.
Santa Catarina Palopo is a bit off the main circle around lake Atitlan and cannot even be accessed by public boats, only more expensive private lanchas. The other option is a tuk-tuk to reach it from Panajachel in around 15-20 minutes. The hotel is very close to the waterfront and the first level rooms offer great lakeviews.
This tiny village is home to some of the best weaving in Guatemala and such artisanal work is the main decoration around the hotel giving it a real authentic feel. Staff spoke some minimal English but knowing Spanish is definitely a huge plus here. This would be a great place for guests who don’t want to wonder around much, just enjoy lovely hospitality surrounded by lakeviews and mountains for a few days.
The property was lovely. Restaurant was good, along with excellent service. Great location next to the lake.
A lovely setting on the shores of the lake. The hotel is also located in pretty grounds with a big outdoor swimming pool surrounded by trees, cactus and lawns. It’s also a short walk to the main square of the town and to the lake.
All the guest rooms overlook the pool and have an outdoor covered balcony with outdoor furniture.
The rooms are rustic in design but quite comfortable. There are two single beds & a desk & chair. The bathroom has a large walk in shower. There are minimal amenities. But the room is very clean. There is a Tv but only has a few local channels. There is wifi around the property stronger near reception but not great in the guest rooms
Breakfast is a set menu and changes a bit each day. It’s all tasty. Staff do their best & are friendly.
The staff
Vista espectacular
Buen ambiente , muy linda vista y la comida muy rica, con un sabor personalizado y sazon propio
Wonderful place to be
Very nice heritage hotel near Lake Atitlan.
Most rooms have a view over the pool and lake to the volcanoes in the distance.
The hotel is not in the main town of Panajachel, but has a nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner.
I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Lake Atitlan and want to avoid the busier towns.
The hotel was nice, but I did not like the bugs in my room. My waiter, Osman, was very kind. However, the front desk clerk, Glendy, was rude and unhelpful.
The hotel is well maintained presently located and quiet. It is in the proximity of the town center an very close to the lake Atitlan. A great place to relax after touring other places.
