The Cambridge Hotel

Easy check in, clean room, the first hotel pillow in ages that’s actually the right height on its own (always find 1 pillow not enough, 2 too much, but here 1 was perfect).
Shower was excellent, powerful and hot.
It’s a bit dated, but superb value for money.

Had stayed here before a couple of years ago and it was fine. Unfortunately, we booked another hotel for most recent stay in Huddersfield which closed down so we were transferred here. Issues with plumbing meant we were awoken both mornings at 5am by a loud high pitched noise, which we reported twice. Hotel also appears to be used as temporary accommodation for council; this resulted in a strong smell of cannabis outside the doors of the property and small group of residents hanging about outside drinking and smoking on the stairs. Manager did offer a free breakfast but we were on way out with our bags by that time. Such a shame

Excellent stay, the room was comfortable, clean and a short walk to the town centre. Great value for money.

Great hotel, worth the money

Nice hotel. Very convenient for the bus and train facilities. Very helpful staff. Minor issue with the shower in the room not draining away efficiently.

Excellent experience starting with the convenient car park, quick check-in and very good service altogether. Friendly staff.

Hotel for Muslims only. Turned up today expecting to have a meal turns out they've closed the restaurant cause its Eid. I'm not a Muslim and do not care.
To date, i have never been affected by religious events, but it looks like the country is changing to accommodate Muslims only. No other religion can do this.
To make matters worse they gave me a twin room when I asked for double and suffered with neck pains for 2 days. The pillow I was sleeping on stunk of sick, lucky there were others. The fridge with glass door and a very bright light stayed on all night. Who needs a huge fridge in their room?
Never again.

Absolutely disgusting, rats running around outside. Mold and dirty rooms, the place is not maintained properly. They have a no talking/socialising policy, the staff are rude and can be racist against white people. Very noisy from other rooms. Does not have half of the stuff as listed like a spa or good wifi etc. Would recommend not going, the place needs shutting down!!

Perfect breakfast perfect room perfect stay highly recommended five star close to Huddersfield shops and amenities also the train station and university close by Greenhead Park also close and on a bus route

Awful hotel TA wont let me state the reason but I would ever stay here again if they paid me. Huddersfield doesn't have a great variety of hotels but out of choice I would sleep in the station on a bench before I came back to this hotel

OK, so we quickly realised this place is being used for socially housing homeless/asylum/those in need.
Receptionist who greeted us, young lad, very pleasant and polite and helpful.
Breakfast which we paid for on the day was varied and just alright. Menu needs updated as we were almost charged the new increased price until we pointed out the cost in print.I didn't appreciate the chefs/staff goin out on the balcony, with the big sign "no smoking area", to indeed, have a smoke. While we sat eating. Door open, smoke wafting in.... The bedroom itself was well equipped. The TV would be better in a more central position or on a swinging arm as very hard to see from the other bed.shower door frame needed a good scrub as lots of black mould and muck, which would come off easy, the shower head needs unscrewed to give that a clean too as plenty obvious limescale and blocked jets. Blood stain on the net curtains. Just attention to detail,really.
Sadly, the room was roasting hot and directly opposite is a gym which plays VERY loud music from very early in the morning til close late evening!! We were woken far too early with no chance of peace. Not ideal after a long drive then a night out! Then another long drive home... The part of the corridor we were in was Very smelly ,stuffy and hot too. The place stank of curry.
I'd suggest some attention to these areas,as the hotel was decent enough

Awful hotel - renowned for asylum seekers and emergency accommodation. Found a bed bug in the bathroom - one of the worst I’ve ever stayed in

I love my car and was really impressed with the security and easy access into the hotel from my car
The staff are very busy but we're all very nice and we're more than willing to help you as best they could.
The rooms were very clean and we're cleaned every day whist I stayed there.
The choice of food available at breakfast was very good
I had fruit juice ,fresh fruit bowl, scrambled eggs and whatever cereal I liked, fresh aboutcoffee and even freshly baked pasteries.i had a excellent access into Huddersfield and the train station. All in all I had a nice experience staying there.

Had so much fun and the staff are very kind.

Everything good, room was clean , a decent size and all mod cons. Only issue is there's no bar and although that's perfectly fine, I would have looked elsewhere if I had known as always look forward to a lovely glass of wine after a long drive from down south.. This was my only complaint, otherwise a perfectly nice hotel for the money

Rood staff that just can't be bothered, toilet seat was broken with gaffa tape all round it, half of the lighting didn't work, capet was all damp near the bed, breakfast was dry and on paper plates on top of the toast, filthy walls, filthy doors, holes been filled with toilet tishue, very old TV that hardly worked and the TV remote didn't have a back on it and was absalutly horrid full of food and grime.

When confronted about this they changed the toilet seat and hoovered the wet patch and that was it it's just a complete disaster of a place to stay I wouldn't want my dog to stay hear.

I was in town for 1-day music festival. The hotel suited my needs perfectly.

Great friendly service, good breakfast buffet, nice clean hotel.

The staff in this hotel were rude to the point where they were arrogant and vile to the me and other customers! They did not treat people with respect like they should’ve done! They treated us as though we were dogs. They had no respect for their customers!
I would NEVER recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family!!! THE STAFF NEED TO SORT OUT THEIR BEHAVIOUR AND LEARN HOW TO RESPECT PEOPLE!
