It was a disappointment.
Cons:

There was no meal service in the physical facility except breakfast. Their "restaurant" was cafe across the street with no visible connection. When we checked in they gave us only one room card without asking. In the room we discovered it was needed to turn on and keep the lights on so if one of us left and wanted to carry a key card, I had to go back and ask for another. The elevator was very fast and rough about closing the doors - it felt very rushed.

Lucky to have found this!
Pros:

We needed 2 last-minute rooms and we hit the jackpot here! Super clean, well maintained, free parking, and best of all during this heatwave, wonderful air conditioning! Close to Tintern Abbey (25 minutes) and Cardiff (35 mins).
Only thing lacking are washcloths (or "flannels" as they are referred to in the UK), but most hotels don't stock them we are finding. Highly recommend staying here over Cardiff.

We would like to say a special Dan. Dan’s professional and efficient actions helped turn what could have been a disaster
Pros:

For our 2 night stay it was perfect. The staff were amazing. The breakfast was excellent. The air conditioning was just what we needed during the heatwave. The food was brilliant in Sawyers restaurant. Agathe and Mark run a great kitchen

Cons:

The beds were a bit uncomfortable and you cannot turn off individual lights. One on all on. It was a pain especially if one person is sleeping.

Pros:

Had a great experience at Ty Magor thanks to Chelsea on reception. She really bent over backwards to sort things out for us and couldn’t have been more helpful. Chelsea has a great personality, was friendly, approachable, and made us feel welcome from the start. Customer service like that makes a big difference and really added to our stay. Thank you, Chelsea

Pros:

Born in Newport now living in Canada it was the ideal location for visiting family and friends in the surrounding area

No chef on duty for the days we stayed for evening meal

Perfect place for what we needed.
Pros:

Clean comfortable rooms which also provide an iron and ironing board.
We just needed somewhere near to our friends funeral.
This was ideal.

Cons:

Bar and food prices are a little bit higher than we would normally pay.
The beds are very high if your not very tall you might struggle getting in and out. But they are super comfy.

perfect budget location for an overnight stop

bed was comfortable, location was easy to get to and perfect for getting into newport, staff were super friendly and helpful

Cons:

bathroom wasn't the best, tiny shower head that leaked out of the handle, cracked shower drain

Pros:

Great location. Very nice staff. Our room was one of the best for a cut price hotel. Just over the M4 is a service station and 10 mins away there is a retail park with a cinema, nados etc.

Cons:

The retail park it is situated in its under major improvemennt and looks like it will be a great stop over when finished

Great Hotel, great price.
Pros:

Only booked at last minute, Great Price 3 night stay. Lovely, clean and big Room, Really big and comfy bed. Loads of sockets :-)

Cons:

Back of the building is a large building site. even the road to and from has uneven roads and temp lights. (will be over year till finished I expect)
Small Tv in the room
No shops nearby, you'd have to drive 5 mins to other side of the large roundabout to get McDonalds / M&S etc (Motorway services)
