Pros:

I was told that “Tŷ” means “house” in Welsh, but after my multiple stays at Tŷ Magor, it genuinely feels more like my second home.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Chelsea, Joanna and the rest of the team do a fantastic job of making everyone feel welcome — no exceptions. The ladies at breakfast deserve a special mention too; they always have such a positive attitude and are a great way to start the day.

A hotel can have nice rooms and nice walls, but ultimately it’s the people who make you want to come back. At Tŷ Magor, it’s not so much about the walls — it’s about the exceptional staff who make the place what it is.

Mine and my daughter’s stay was amazing, I will be returning hopefully very soon.
Pros:

Very clean and exactly the same as pictures online. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Everything was modern and well presented.

Cons:

My only negative was I waited over an hour for a vegetarian sausage. So I think better options or care should be taken before breakfast to allow enough time for cooking etc.

Perfect as a stop over on a long journey but I wouldn’t want to spend more than one night there.

Good hotel to stay near M4 if you have a car.
Pros:

The room was excellent.. Good size comfortable bed TV channels Electric kettle. High standard bathroom with toiletries. hair dryer.

Cons:

Going to AGM in morning. Difficult to get to Newport without a car at a certain time.
Buses only one an hour to Chepstow and vice versa. Years ago one an hour to Brewery stop very near Hotel Ty. Now nearest stop is Rectory or Queens Gardens several 100yards away. One other way years ago via SDR every hour too
Similarily one bus X74 an hour to Newport but a smaller bus 74C Goes Newport to Brewery stop via Underwood tales an hour and then makes a quick return to Newport several times a day via SDR/ Last bus from Newport 21.00hrs and Chepstow 2130 hours. So leaves before choir practice finishes..
