Gorgeous house set in beautiful French countryside. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was amazing! Steak on the hot stone is very well recommended. The grounds were peaceful and tranquil.
We had a fantastic stay! The chateau is stunning and set in beautiful surroundings. The owners were really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and we had dinner in the restaurant one night which was one of the best of the holiday. The only slight negative is the decor in the rooms is a little tired, but this was easily outweighed by how great everything else was. I would thoroughly recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing break away.
Domaine de la Ferrière was flawless in every respect. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to make us feel very welcome. We were so pleased that we extended our stay by one day. The hotel is visually stunning yet completely up to date. Breakfasts were excellent in a spacious comfortable room. The restaurant was absolutely top notch. The room met all of our requirements and then some.
Glad we chose this super location. Great contrast to our previous, town-based hotel. Stylish hotel with outdoor pool, lovely wooded grounds and a warm welcome. Great breakfast buffet and cooked breakfast fresh and generous. Restaurant serves good food in a nice setting. Enjoyed the peace and quiet, the terrace and sunshine. Sad to leave and will definitely return.
Superb mini-chateau in the middle of the French countryside. It's a bit tricky to find, but if you have a car then it has great access for Vannes and Josselin. Without a car, though, it would be a bit inaccessible. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a superb restaurant on site, which is a little pricey but excellent quality.
Welcoming hosts, offered bacon and eggs as well as full continental breakfast, beautiful old building, bedrooms approached via a winding staircase not really suitable for people with walking difficulties, wheelchairs etc but I believe there was a ground floor room, best to check.
Friendly and helpful proprietor. Amazing and beautiful country setting in a gorgeous historic property. The room itself was quite small and simple, but acceptable.
We arrived during a power cut in the locality (not just the hotel) and the owners could not do enough for us. The room was excellent, the welcome fabulous and we were only sorry that we were only there for one night. Will certainly go back if the opportunity arises.
Place is beautiful, room was lovely although a long trek up winding staircase with suitcases. Staying just Sunday night having arrived in France that morning from ferry to discover the restaurtant is closed on Sundays! managed to get a sandwich nearby in a lovely little pub 'the Fox and Shamrock'. Breakfast in morning was very good. It appears on site as 4 star but is marked as a 3 star outside hotel.
Had a wonder ful stay. The people were most friendly and helpful and the dinner was superb! Highly recommend this hotel .great value for money!
I can't say enough good things about our stay here. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. From the moment we first saw the Chateau we were in awe. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful in any they can. the dinner was unbelievable and the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. We walked the grounds with the owner and he showed us all of the unusual trees and plants and trees and also introduced us to his horses. I loved this place so much I am trying to talk my daughter into having her wedding here! the rooms were so beautiful, spacious and clean. they even had a bottle of sparkling water and cookies on the night stand when we arrived. the only down side ( not for us though) is that you may have to walk up the spiral stairs in the turret to get to your room. for us it just added to the charm of the place!~
My partner and I thought the hotel was lovely and would definately recommend it. However my partner, left 3 shirts hanging in the wardrobe accidently and we have contacted the hotel several times by email and have not received a response. We wondered if they could post them and we would pay the cost if the postage. I am disappointed that we have not even been acknowledged at all and surprised as the level of service whilst staying at this hotel was excellent.
Beautiful hotel. Fantastic staff - highly recommend staying here and plan to go back very soon.
My wife and I stayed for two nights in December and we had the place to ourselves. The rooms are clean and spacious with good facilities. The hotel is in a lovely setting and the owners are very accomodating. The breakfast and Saturday night meal were great. The only slight downside was trying to find somewhere to eat on a Sunday night in December.
A real delight in the countryside near Josselin, this small country house exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was immaculate and with a lovely view over the grounds and the lake. My only complaint with the room is that it has that strange grass mat style flooring, which is no doubt very practical but quite ghastly to walk barefoot on. More rugs please! The owners are lovely and Mme speaks excellent English. They also breed horses in the paddocks around the house.
I have often found that French hotels such as these offer very inexpensive acommodation to attract clientele to their fabulous but expensive restaurants, but that's not the case here. The restaurant offers a set menu which is quite extensive but very reasonably priced. There is also an excellent menu offering all sorts from ommelettes to salads, at very reasonable prices. Breakfast was fresh and beautifully cooked.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 3 nights, and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. You will also be able to charge your mobile phone, as I left my charger there by mistake!
Great for exploring the sights nearby without having the expense of a town hotel.
