We booked this location purely because it promised on site free parking, unfortunately what they fail to mention is the “carpark” is tiny, and will be overbooked. So unfortunately we had to then attempt to find other carparks (costing money and risking fines and damage) nearby. A HUGE inconvenience when you’re travelling with children and people with disabilities.
Our apartment on arrival was absolutely disgusting. It was clear it hadn’t been cleaned from the last visitors. There was urine all over the WALLS and floor in the toilets, the bedding and sheets were covered in hair and not even tucked in around the mattress. It looked and smelled atrocious.
After reporting this to reception, requesting they organise someone to please come and clean the room the next day, we were assured that this would happen and a cleaner would be by shortly. We went out for the day and returned to find nothing had been cleaned. So called reception again who argued that they had sent a cleaner. Eventually they sent another one who was just as appalled as we were about the lack of hygiene in the apartment - even going as far as taking photos because he was disgusted and wanted to show management how poorly kept it was.
Reception was highly unapproachable, and very abrupt and rude.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here at all.
This is one of my Go-To places to stay in Melbourne if I’m in a budget.
Great value for money - rooms are older but always spotless and clean.
Soap, Shampoo & Conditioner supplied plus Milk & Tea/Coffee/Sugar.
North Richmond Train Station a short 10 min walk and 109 & 12 trams stop a block away (get off at Wellington Parade)
Basic things were missed like a tea towel, felt dirty with stains on walls and carpet, kitchen smelt like cigarettes, bathroom sink was loose, behind the toilet was covered in dust and matresses were extremely hard. I know it was cheap but these things are easy to do.
Close walk to the MCG
Close to IGA supermarket and Yummy Cafe
We always enjoy staying here so close to Vic st
basic, noise from other rooms, dated fixtures and fittings, run down
good area, quiet, close to city with parking, price
The apartment was clean and nice location, 1 heater kept making the switchboard turn off and the couch was like a hard wooden block with a cloth covering very hard and uncomfortable. Tiny kitchen with large pan that took up the 2 hot plates.
The place is dirty, no spare bedding to put on if it was cold, no tea towels or sink plugs so who knows how clean the dishes are.
location is excellent and parking great but even if they did some small basics like cleaning the rooms probably and providing a plug and tea towel it would such a better experience.
An absolute disgrace. I have no words! The photos on wotif and the property’s website and nothing like it…..completely different.
Our lounge room had a stained dirty single bed mattress lying in it. And some cleaning products and a dirty rag that the cleaners left. The cleaners must have left early because it was filthy.
Room was filthy, in all areas
The property wasn’t overly clean (pubes in the shower) and the room was smelly. Wouldn’t recommend.
It was ok for a quick stay for the footy
Very cheap for the size and location. The LHS of the king bed is sunken and collapsed. The couches are rock hard and extremely uncomfortable. There was only one bowl which wasn’t adequate given it’s a two bedroom apartment. Freezing cold and only one thin blanket on each bed plus one additional blanket per person.
Appliances difficult to operate without instructions or not working properly
This satisfied our purpose of purely a bed after going to the football but we are grateful we only needed that. The front door to the complex was constantly ajar leaving no security. The doors to the rooms were grotty. Inside was basic but our internal door had swear words written on it. The room was cold, ran down (parts of bathroom new) and the curtains were not actual curtains - I can’t even describe them. I was worried we were going to be broken into - I wouldn’t stay here again. I guess you get what you pay for in this example.
Very spacious. Older and a bit must but comfortable and clean. Good shower. Nice having a kitchen etc.
good, cheap accomodation close to Melbourne
Good
In the end we chose not to stay in the building and just drove back home.
Greasy walls/ doors / handprints on table and door.
I don't recommend booking here.
Second time using city edge apartments will be using them again.
Can't complain for the price, room was clean and spacious, walls are a bit thin but overall normal experience, you get what you pay for
