Great choice hotel for our first visit to Hanoi.
Pros:

Imperial Hotel is in a fantastic location for visitors wishing to explore the Old Quarter of Hanoi.
Round the corner from St Joseph's Church, Hoan Kiem Lake and the water puppet theatre.
We found the staff super helpful, polite and have very good language skills.
Rooms are a good size with everything you need and the WiFi works well.
Good choice of allsorts at the buffet breakfast on the top floor.

Pros:

The location was fantastic with easy access to the Old Quarter and the lake. The staff were so friendly and extremely helpful, little things like the doorman were just so sweet. The breakfast is definitely worth getting as there was such a variety of food to choose from. Big shout out to "John " their tour agent at the hotel. He went above and beyond booking our taxis, train and tours for us. He was so professional and booked everything in such a timely manner.
We actually enjoyed this hotel so much that when we arrive back in Hanoi in a few weeks we will be staying there again

Cons:

The entrance to the hotel was down a little lane which the first time was hard to find. Then after that ,no problem

Pros:

The staff are so obliging helping us with a problem with an airline booking , always happy and we received a gift at the end of our stay very thoughtful and wonderful people .The breakfast was very good too .

Bad experience!
Pros:

Nothing to be mention except it was at old quarter near city center.

Cons:

Absolutely poor service and misleading.
We were charged extra 3% as credit card fee when checking in. There was no mention of this fee when making booking.

We really have to bag to get extra pack of sugar or tea. And ultimately we bought our own condiments.

On other occasion, housekeeper stopped us from get in the elevator so that she can get in with her cart and we had to wait for next turn. Really!
No concept of hospitality and guest satisfaction.
We were a group of 13 people staying in 6 rooms for 3 nights and this type of service we never expected.
The room size they mentioned on their website is not true either. They are much smaller than that.
We specially booked this hotel at a higher price because room size were showing bigger than most of the hotels in that area.

A hidden Gem in the heart of Hanoi.
Pros:

I stayed in this wonderful Hotel on my last night in Hanoi, it was a wonderful finale for my magical trip to Hanoi. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, very high quality furniture, very clean. The breakfast was also a treat and had wonderful soothing soft music playing the background. This is a hidden GEM right in the middle of the action in The Old Quarter District. I will definitely return to this hotel. The entrance is hidden behind an ATM machine.

Welcoming hotel

We stayed here for 5 nights with family and friends. The hotel is in a fabulous location. Rooms clean and comfortable. What stood out was the friendliness and service of the staff. Especially John, who was so helpful and attentive. We felt very welcomed

Quando ho prenotato ho richiesto una camera ai piani alti, arrivo e mi viene assegnata una camera al primo piano: partiamo male. Appena si entra in hotel si sente un forte odore di umidità, la struttura molto più vecchia di come appare in foto. Saliamo in camera e ci viene assegnata la 2007, una camera senza finestre dove, fin dal primo momento si avverte un forte odore di chiuso, umidità e asfissia. La camera sembra sia stata ricavata da un magazzino, dal momento che ha una porta diversa, chiavi non elettroniche e appunto senza finestre. Attenzione, se doveste prenotare qui, a non farvi assegnare la camera 2007.

Provo a restare in ogni caso, ma la notte è anche le successive sono state un incubo, non abbiamo mai chiuso occhio per via dei rumori continui, alle 3:00, alle 04:00 di mattina, a qualsiasi ora si sentivano tavoli, sedie spostarsi, porte sbattere, insonorizzazione pari a 0, magazzino delle donne delle pulizie adiacente alla nostra camera (e quindi rumori prestissimo), e abbiamo dovuto accendere l’aria condizionata per avere un attimo un ricircolo di aria perche ci sentivamo soffocare. Ho provato a chiedere un cambio camera, mi è stato negato in quanto la struttura era al completo. Ho spiegato alla reception che avevo anche chiesto una camera ai piani alti e mi è stato detto che le deluxe sono tutte al primo piano, magari vista la mia richiesta in fase di prenotazione, sarebbe stato opportuno dirlo tramite il portale, almeno avrei cambiato categoria di camera prima del mio arrivo. Colazione scarsa, piccola e con pochi prodotti per noi occidentali. Unica nota buona il caffè.
Non ci tornerei e non lo consiglierei a nessuno.

Perfect gelegen hotel en goede service!
Pros:

Uitstekende ligging, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Lekker en verzorgd ontbijt. Propere en redelijk rustig gelegen kamers.

Cons:

Er staat een bar geafficheerd maar deze is tijdens ons verblijf nooit open geweest. Het bureeltje in de imperial suite was aan de kleine kant om goed aan te kunnen werken.

Wonderful place to stay
Pros:

The breakfast was wonderful, plenty to choose from. The bed was enormous and comfortable, good amount of storage for clothes, nice bathroom. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful and even arranged for a 'take away' breakfast on our last day as our flight was very early. Walking distance to the city centre of Hanoi.
