Sofitel was the right choice for our organizations stay during a major event. The grounds are refreshing and beautiful and close to everything we needed. Rooms met the same worldwide Sofitel quality and the staff were exceptional. Everything ran seemlessly, making it much easier for us to hold our event. Everyone loved the multiple dining options. Will definitely book again for our teams needs in the future.
Lovely hotel quiet roomy staff friendly and very attentive room and pool class only down side half board menu for evening meal a set one and same each night.better breakfast only option
Hotel is beautiful and room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Best part of my stay was staff. Front desk staff, Theavy, Nita and Tela were extremely pleasant and helpful.
Elevators looked a little runned down.
From the moment we arrived until our departure, every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. This hotel truly exemplifies what five-star hospitality should be.
The hotel itself is of a superb standard throughout. Our room was generously sized and impeccably comfortable, providing the perfect retreat after days of exploring. All the facilities were first class, leaving nothing to be desired. The lounge bar deserves special mention - the cocktails were absolutely top notch, expertly crafted and beautifully presented.
Breakfast was a particular highlight, offering diverse options with exceptional quality across the board. We must give special praise to the filled croissants, which were genuinely the best we have ever had - and we’ve stayed in many fine hotels!
We have stayed in a few Sofitels around the world, and they all consistently deliver the same exceptional quality. This property certainly upholds that renowned standard beautifully.
However, what truly elevated our experience and made this stay memorable and special was the outstanding staff. The duty manager, Lou-Anne, was so lovely, welcoming, and very attentive throughout our stay. Her helpfulness went above and beyond, making us feel genuinely valued as guests. Sim, who assisted us at the desk during our departure, was equally wonderful and ensured we left with the same warm impression we’d had upon arrival.
Indeed, every single member of staff we encountered was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely smiley. It’s this warmth and authentic hospitality that transforms a comfortable hotel into an unforgettable experience. The team here clearly understands that exceptional service is what makes a stay truly special, and they deliver it effortlessly.
We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and very much look forward to returning.
Absolutely incredible hotel. It is spotlessly clean the setting is luxurious without being stuffy. The staff are utterly incredible from Mr Ty the barman who made the best spicy margaritas to Lou Anne on reception who was so helpful even downloading an app to make future bookings easier and the lovely Rida who went about and beyond to contact my next hotel to check the reservations etc. Cannot fault this hotel I cannot wait to return.
It was an exceptional stay . The hotel is a gem in itself . Wonderful location and lots of space to spend time within . Then comes the room service and cleanness . Personally , we have not seen anything like this before , its was celestial . Perfect in every sense . We just have a suggestion related to food , to include more authentic Indian food , specially in veg .
Sofitel is so nice esp the people. Staff, service all impeccable. Only need water pressure and temoerature more stable
clean and nice design
ALLES! Ein Frühstück das schwer zu toppen ist.
Fand es etwas zu stark gekühlt in den allgemeinen Bereichen. Aber das ist eine persönliche Empfindung
My wife and I stayed at the Sofitel last month. It was an impressive experience.
The grounds are large and landscaped. It is located within 1.5 km of the city centre and Royal palace and has a modern new AEON shopping mall right next door. Very handy if you are a westerner looking for a hair salon or English bookshop.
From the moment we stepped into the hotel foyer we were greeted by friendly attentive staff. The Hotel exceeded our expectations with two large swimming pools, three restaurants, a exclusive member’s lounge, a cigar bar, beauty therapy rooms and in-room dining.
Our room was serviced daily and the bed turned down every night. The executive lounge for Accor members offers an afternoon buffet and complimentary alcoholic beverages. The Cigar bar has a smoking room which brings in the best cigars from around the world.
The three restaurants are An Italian, a French and a Japanese all available onsite. If you want to stay in your room the in room dining menu is also quite extensive and the food arrives on a classic food cart with white linen service. Absolutely exceptional. The laundry service at this hotel was also outstanding, my clothes came ack so clean and crisp and well folded I could have sold them as new…lol.
I would strongly recommend this Hotel and I personally believe it is the best in Phnom Phen .
After our spectacular experience at the Sofitel Angkor we reached this hotel for our two nights that turned out to be such a damp squib. The seeds of which were sown much earlier when I tried to get in touch with the GM Mr. Chevet. Being ALL Platinum and travelling with our 11 year old twins I enquired of a possible upgrade. My email was answered by Ly Ngykong who signed as a reservation manager. He said that he could only offer a "complimentary upgrade" to their Family Suite Room, which we later figured out was not a suite at all. But the catch was, and here I quote him: "We'll just charge an extra USD 40net per night for your both children as your reservation was made for 2 adults occupancy"!! Now, our booked Accor Plus rate included complimentary stay of up to two children below 12 years while the second night was free, booked via the Accor Plus free night. In his next email, Mr. Ly clarified that they will be charging us since we have two 11 year old kids, who are actually twins! So, I demanded a clarification on this from the GM directly, who finally replied 3 days later. He mentioned in passing that Mr. Ly was actually "trying to upsell and not upgrade", this to an ALL Platinum doing his once-in-a-lifetime anniversary trip to Cambodia! We had almost decided to move to the newly opened Shangri-La, but the GM's intervention made us reconsider.
Anyway, as we arrived on a Sunday there was no senior staff on duty. A junior staff (French speaking) checked us in and gave a short tour of the property. We couldn't find her the next day. We waited at the Club Millesime as our room got ready. After having experienced the club at Siem Reap, this was such a let-down in every aspects. It was a smallish space next to the lobby, where the club manager was not very responsive, the hors d'oeuvre in the evening was nothing to write home about, while the alcohol selections were just passable including their wines. Hot items once finished were not replaced for a while sometimes. We were given spa coupons for the entire family to avail an half hour complimentary massage. As it usually goes with such free massages, the experience was quite average and it never crossed our minds to extend those sessions.
The so-called family suites were also corner rooms which were just standard rooms with an extra "room" which presumably was once part of a terrace or something. These rooms neither had a lot of space inside nor did they have these outdoor balconies as some of the other rooms (I think deluxe category) had, save for this extra "room" for the kids. This space was right at the entrance, without any door separating it from the rest of the suite with two single beds, a night stand in between and a desk and chair combo which also had the room's Nespresso machine. There was a tent too, but our boys had grown beyond that age while the girlish theme everywhere annoyed them. The space had two windows and so light was not in short supply. The main bedroom area was dominated by the comfortable king bed, twin night stands on either sides, a single-seat sofa and a footstool and a small round table near the window. This room had another work desk and chair, the only TV of the room and a luggage rack. One of the nightstands had an analogue clock while the work desk had a Marshall speaker. The minibar was inside the TV cabinet. The bed was minimally decorated with flower petals showing a heart sign and the number 13. The round table had welcome amenities that included some chocolates, a bottle each of still and sparkling water and then some sliced lemon! The hotel wanted us to remain sober and not drink perhaps? The bento-sized anniversary cake was placed in the room later in the evening accompanied by two cupcakes and a printed note from the GM. The five fixture bathroom was only accessible from the bedroom, which had the wardrobe inside. It was not very spacious with a glass door separating the built-in tub and the open shower area next to it while the toilet was behind another frosted glass door.
We did not like the room. Except for the separate beds, which pleased our kids there was hardly any place to sit and relax, while the absence of a powder room meant we were always delayed for any family activity. The views from the windows at that low level were uninteresting with only the muddy waters of a canal going toward the Bassac river largely visible. The service standards of the staff were much better here compared to the Novotel of our earlier stay. They appeared to be better groomed but a significant of them were also expats.
The highlight of our stay (and so the 3rd star) was our breakfast at their Chinese restaurant Fu Lu Zu which was an option given to us, complementary for Accor Platinums. The breakfast menu was an unlimited a-la-carte made-to-order delight of a large number of dim sum, stir-fried, soup, rice item choices including congee. For us the highlights were the beef brisket soup, the duck soup, the Hainanese chicken rice and most of the dim sums including an exceptional prawn rice roll with asparagus. This experience reminded us of Shang Palace dim sum luncheons, but this was better and most importantly was complementary for the four of us. We also enjoyed our dinner at Hachi one night, their Japanese restaurant. My ramen noodle was very good and they had started giving Accor Plus discounts too. On the second day, before checking out, we tried the breakfast at their European restaurant which was nothing to write about. Similarly, our complementary drinks at the bar next to the lobby was quite average even though their descriptions sounded interesting.
The check-out was smooth. This was one of those hotels where our initial average impressions stayed unchanged throughout and to this day we still debate whether moving to the Shangri-La would have been a wiser choice. We would never know that though.
Recently stayed 2 nights at the Sofitel Phokeethra in Phnom Pehn and enjoyed every minute of it! The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful! The location is outstanding - in Oasis within the city - very easy to get to all the sites, shopping and restaurants. The Club Millesime experience is well worth it! Mr Sophano in the Club made our stay! We were very fortunate to be able to talk to him about various aspects of Cambodian culture and history which was wonderful. We had many shared experiences of being in Phnom Penh in the early 90s. We had such a wonderful stay that we didn't want to leave! Thank you to all the staff for making our staying a phenomenal experience!
We really loved our stay at this hotel for two nights. The grounds are so expansive and a calming oasis to the business of the Phnom Penh city. The staff were always ready with a greeting and very helpful. We had warm towels, a welcome drink, and welcome flowers when we checked in - such a lovely touch and set the tone for the service during our stay. We had great breakfast at the hotel. They have two options and we tried both. The main spread had plenty of variety and also great service. The Chinese breakfast was made to order an a more limited option. It was just OK for dim sum - we preferred the main buffet spread. The elevators were quick to call and the room was spacious. The beds are very firm - I think the most firm bed I've ever slept in. I would happily stay here again.
Great location, fabulously well appointed, luxury accomodatio n with a variety of amenities. All staff were exceptionally helpful, serene atmosphere and high quality service. Spacious room with gigantic bed, nice views of the river and city. Luscious gardens and ample grounds. Superb breakfast options.
Beautiful day at the Sofitel staff couldn’t do enough for us every day. Breakfast was amazing and enjoyed the facilities of the spa beautiful pool and club tennis courts.
Room facilities excellent and very comfortable.
Highly recommend
Very tranquil regardless of being situated in heart of Phom Phen!
