Very basic, no restaurant facilities, good shower in room. No ice provision, could do with a refurbishment and some new pillows/mattresses
Stayed last night at the Days Inn Taunton, which I can only assume was built on cursed land and never emotionally recovered. The Days Inn, feels less like a hotel and more like a punishment.
The entire corridor smells like weed so aggressively I think the smoke alarm is complicit. In fact I’m fairly certain the smoke alarm is also high. Oh, that smell, it hits you, not a hint. Not a whisper. A full-body spiritual hotbox. I’m starting to suspect they employ people whose full-time job is to hotbox the hallways so guests physically cannot check out—too high to drive, too confused to locate the exit.
The room had the unmistakable energy of a place where Something Bad happened and someone said absolutely not on my watch and unleashed a chemical baptism strong enough to erase memories fingerprints and possibly time itself. The chlorine smell was so violent it felt personal. The moment I opened the door, my sinuses filed a formal complaint and my soul briefly left my body. I’m not saying they cleaned a crime scene in my room, but the air had that nothing happened here, legally vibe. I had a lingering fear that if I touched anything without gloves, I’d be entered into evidence.
The walls are made entirely of hopes, dreams, and printer paper. Reception came to our room to tell us to turn the TV down… except the TV was OFF. We were breathing. Apparently oxygen travels freely between rooms here. If you think too loudly, housekeeping knows. Heaven forbid we should have even whispered, I think it would have been considered a nightclub activity here or maybe even a rave.
The bathroom deserves its own paragraph. You have to pump the toilet like you’re inflating an air mattress just to get it to flush, which really adds a cardio element I wasn’t expecting. The bath was clearly designed for hobbits—anyone over four feet tall will be forced into a fetal position to wash.
I didn’t sleep—I was serenaded all night by a rotating cast of strangers’ alarms. iPhone sirens, pop songs, alarms that went off so long I formed emotional attachments. NONE of these people woke up, they just snoozed them over and over, like the building itself was taunting me.
The bed… listen. The stains were confident. Not suspicious—experienced. I slept fully clothed, wrapped in the sheets like a burrito of fear, while another alarm down the hall proudly announced it was 5:12 a.m. for absolutely no one.
Would I stay again? Only if I’d lost my sense of smell, my hearing, my dignity, my bladder strength, my free will, and my will to live. The Days Inn: you’ll check in because you think you have a choice. You don’t. The chlorinated light will judge you the smell will haunt you and by morning you may understand the true meaning of “no checkout!
Ideal for overnight stay, just off the motorway and easy to access.
Room is clean and tidy, little tired but ideal to meet my needs.
It’s a dog friendly hotel which is great.
Parking outside the door
Location ok for a motorway stop and a 1 night stopover but any longer it’s too expensive as service areas are. Staff at Days Inn very helpful and friendly.
Spacious, clean, convenient and well priced.
Able to check in very late, flexibility was much appreciated after a very long drive.
I had an incredibly comfortable stay and great sleep here. It was clean, warm, spacious, good selection of hot drinks including Yorkshire Tea and Ringtons coffee. Towel warmer, plenty of towels and BIG shower head! Last week I’d stayed at two different Ramadas, for a higher price which weren’t a touch in this place.
Have had bad dealings with this hotel
Booked a room and had ro cancel almost immediately as we could not get to the hotel in time. Booking.com were prepared to refund the money but the hotel have refused although they had told me it wasn't their decision. £130 for 0 service.
I do not like to lied to.
Start for great not sure his name checked in but Rachel was equally helpful when I checked out
Friendly staff
Clean and comfortable, overnight stop at a excellent price, yes could do with a bit of a upgrade but it would increase the price I assume. Great staff on reception only issue we had was the door lock was a bit challenging, receptionist came up and sorted it out.
Hotel needs a revamp - it’s looking tired and dated. Reception was great: friendly man went out of his way to be helpful.
It is very nice clean and tidy very good staff
Really good value for money. The hotel was lovely and clean, welcoming, relaxed and quiet throughout my 2 night stay. My room was well stocked and included extra towels and pillows. The bed was amazingly comfortable and I slept brilliantly both nights. All appliances worked. Parking is included in the booking for Days Inn customers, you need to register your number plate at reception. Staff were genuinely friendly and check in was hassle free. I wouldn't hesitate booking a room here in future. I felt safe and respected at Days Inn, Wyndham Taunton Deane.
Staff very friendly
Although the room is very clean, for the price it is very shabby.
Great value. Brilliant for one night.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our family room was perfect for a quick overnight stay. Very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable double bed, great powerful shower. Will definitely stay again.
Unfortunately I have forgotten his name. The person on reception was welcoming, happy, and incredibly helpful. He was on duty on my previous stay. I was pleased to see him once again.
Really in need of an update, the rooms were very dated with old carpets. Only stayed here as could take the dog, but think everyone else was doing the same so the dog kept waking as must have heard other dogs nearby.
The bathroom was so gross, I couldn’t bare to have a shower. Was so glad to have only stayed one night. Just don’t bother. Camping probably a better option.
