Bed was comfortable and the pillow was perfect for me. Couch wasn't the most comfortable. Supplies were plentiful. Breakfast was average.

My spa won't work send help
A beautiful building located not far from the centre of town and to other attractions.
We stayed for 2 nights in a supposedly boutique hotel. This was booked months ago. We were given a room opposite the General Western Hotel. The GW on both nights had loud concerts, for which we were given no advance notice.
The room was ok but could have done with a good spring clean. We had no room service, one paper cup each for hot drinks and one wine glass. No bedside lamps to read by and we had to turn lights off and try make our way back to bed in the dark.
Breakfast was basic and the coffee was instant. We shared the breakfast room with reception (who took delivery of a McDonalds) and spare linen scattered around in bags.
All in all this is not a boutique hotel and does need upgrading.

The bed was comfortable
This is quite unique in terms of hotels in Queensland. Fabulous, historical building. Nice bed and bath. Perfect location for restaurants in the town - we ate at the Mercure which was fabulous. Handy for a walk along the river to see the Rod Laver statue. Heard one train all night!
We didnt have an Australian phone so couldn't contact you to get door code. Luckily met someone with a phone! Breakfast was a little disappointing. A little prepacked.
Location. Clean rooms. Helpful friendly staff. Gift value.
The little things. Back stairs near where linen/shed is, stairs dirty obviously not cleaned for a while. Excessive bird? Poo on windowsills around building. Linen on ground/floor and kept overnight outside.

The bedroom with the vintage decor was lovely. Very comfortable bed too.
Breakfast was very average. Frozen bacon & egg roll for us to microwave & then put on sandwich maker was a surprise!!
