Var där en natt. Vackert i matsalen och trapphuset. Fräsch toalett på rummet.
Obekväm och liten säng. Gammal madrass.
If you’re looking for a comfortable bed and a genuinely powerful shower, this hotel absolutely delivers. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive surprises ended for me.
The staff, for the most part, gave the impression that guests were slightly interrupting their day simply by existing. A smile or a bit of warmth would have gone a long way.
My room was also in serious need of some TLC. There were cobwebs in the corners, the door handles could have benefited from a good clean, and the décor felt more “waiting for renovation” than “boutique charm.”
While the bed itself was very comfortable, the hotel’s floorboards deserve their own Tripadvisor profile. Every movement from neighbouring rooms sounded like someone rehearsing for Riverdance at 6am. To add to the early wake-up experience, hotel maintenance appears to begin at dawn — including the delightful soundtrack of bottle bins being emptied before breakfast.
Speaking of breakfast… I skipped dinner at the hotel, and after breakfast, I’m glad I did. The tea resembled hot water politely introduced to a teabag, and despite arriving within the advertised breakfast hours, the selection was sparse, low quality, and looked as though the best bits had long since surrendered.
When the receptionist asked how my stay had been and I started offering some constructive comments, the response was a distant look away followed by a quick “thanks.” It didn’t feel as though the feedback was genuinely welcomed or likely to be acted upon.
That’s particularly disappointing given the price point. I’ve stayed in many hotels within the same bracket, and sadly this experience fell well below expectations. With some attention to cleanliness, customer service, maintenance timing, and food quality, this place could be vastly improved, because underneath it all, there are the beginnings of a decent stay.
Nice large newly decorated room with good breakfast. Good carpark.
