Best of the bunch in Darlington so far
Pros:

Breakfast was generally pretty good. Room was decent (quiet and comfy but a lot of stairs and a maze to get there). Staff were very helpful

Cons:

Paying £125+ per night I would expect better quality toilet paper ;) Breakfast coffee was horrific.

Sufficient for a short stay if looking for a bed and breakfast and minimal time in room/hotel.
Pros:

Location excellent to walk to restaurants/shops in Darlington.
Staff I met were friendly/efficient.

Cons:

Sadly the hotel itself in need of some TLC. It’s tired, paint peeling, room furnishings need upgrading/refurbishing/modernising, restaurant in similar need. Breakfast very ordinary buffet. Overall not great value for money.

nice basic hotel, overpriced
Pros:

Nice basic room, very clean.
Good location
Good breakfast
Nice bar, good beer.

Cons:

Room clean but peeling paint especially in bathroom, basic decor issues need to be sorted.
Could not work shower no matter how much I tried.
This was worth maybe £80-100 a night, not £150 (although I paid less as through booking.com); suspect this is due to lack of alternatives.
Staff a bit brusque, need some improved communication with guests

Pros:

Staff were very pleasant and professional.

Cons:

The room and bathroom were dated it requied attention, window in the room rattled when open. People arguing in the corridors in the early hours of the morning kept us awake. Breakfast wall all gone by 9.20am and not replenished. We won't be returning.
