Beautifully decorated and a gorgeous old property.
It was all lovely.
The location is perfect for being right in the middle of the town. The hotel bar and restaurant are lovely areas and the food in the restaurant has always been really good.
The rooms need an update along with corridors, external areas as well.
Location and great staff.
Carpets could do with an upgrade.
Excellent. Very helpful staff. Lovely comfortable beds. Great bathroom. Good restaurant..we had a Sunday roast. Would recommend.
Nothing.
Lovely large room, tea and coffee making facilities including a Nespresso machine.
It was noisy on Friday and Saturday nights until late in the evening as it is a busy pub and there is another busy pub immediately next dour.
The room was lovely, clean and tidy. Staff were welcoming, warm and accommodating (I had a meeting, and the staff were happy to hold my bag until I was finished).
The fire escape sign in the room (Room 7) was so bright i struggled to sleep. I know this is a necessity, though it was a very bright light!
Room was a good size, but it wasn't what I would call a king room, going by previous places we have stayed in and the cost of the room did not reflect this, it was more like a £90 room, but it was clean and comfortable. No plug sockets near the mirror so was a bit difficult doing your hair.
Lovely white luxury towels and very comfy bed..
Mirtor was useless when using hairdryer. Very irritating!
Stairway very dowdy, could do with a coat of paint!
The breakfast was excellent. My poached eggs where perfect and my daughter was very happy with hers also. Staff were very kid friendly and accommodating.
There was some discrepancy about payment before I left. I expected it to have been sorted on arrival as I booked through booking.com staff however were understanding and efficiently sorted it out. There was also alot of noise from outside at night until about 2am
Huge comfy bed and pillows we slept so well.
Room 6 is tired , numerous maintenance issues .
Loo seat broken, sink cracked, bath has black tape on the edge, tile coming off wall, fuse box on show, privacy film peeling off window , mis matched hangers, glass dome with nothing under it ???!? Hair dryer , but no socket close to mirror, room designed by a bald headed man ! Route from bar to rooms via a full skip (being collected tomorrow), shopping trolley , mops, brushes and general rubbish . Entrance stair carpet grubby. Definitely not worth the £111 we paid for room only basis. I think £80 is plenty.
Large king size room. Loads of space. Central.
Tiny bathroom. Pity it was so small in such a large room.
Friendly staff. Good pub and restaurant. Very centrally placed for town centre and station.
Nice big superking bed.
Noisy plumbing. The knocking was quite loud.
No onsite parking and it’s very restrictive in Berkhamsted these days between 8am and 6pm. We were constantly clock watching and moving the car.
The location was fantastic in the heart of town for the markets, shops, cafes etc. The rooms were pleasant with comfy beds. We loved the character & charm of the bar area, food was exceptionally good, and all the staff were outstanding & very accomodating in particular Sarah, Sam, Phoebe & Lucas.
The accommodation & pub toilets are a little tired in some areas & would benefit for minor maintenance. There is no parking, which we were aware of prior and we managed to find parking in varying car parks near by with the occasional need to car shuffle. It didn’t affect us much to be honest.
Staff .. so friendly and helpful
Couldn’t see how to work heating
Central
Very run down, very messy outside our room. The breakfast was very poor. We have stayed there before and breakfast has been the high light.
