Used to be a good hotel, not anymore.
Pros:

Breakfast and pool area was very good. Sauna and hydromassage were great and usually not many people there. Staff was very friendly and supportive. Location was also good.

Cons:

Water pressure was terrible, impossible to take a shower. Bed was very small and uncorfortable, I barely managed to sleep for 3 days. TV didn't work most of the time.

Avoid at all codts
Pros:

The location

Cons:

The building works going on,without prior warning. Good was at another hotel. The staff are very incompetent. 4 times we had to get our door card re-done. Daniel the receptionist was useless, got everything wrong. Maintenance was a joke. Used to be nice but now, its gone down hill

Disappointing and terrible
Pros:

This was a terrible vacation, nothing to say, very disappointing.

Cons:

I had booked five bedrooms, each with one double bed and two single beds, but when I arrived there was only one double bed, which was terrible. The room was also too hot; we couldn't sleep.

We would deffo stay again when all of the building work is completed. Lovely large family rooms(need finishing touches),
Pros:

Nice big room two bedrooms, so staff were amazing really lovely.
Comfy beds and replaced atmosphere.

Cons:

The pool area needs updating and a really good clean, hot tub chlorine was very strong.

Building working going on so dust literally everywhere.

One man at the front of house is very awkward to talk to he doesn’t come across attentive, very picky and strange attitude, he actually creeped us out a bit. (Very odd).

Worse hotel stay don’t waste your time
Pros:

The only thing good about the property was the location and pool.

Cons:

We booked a more expensive room called St Malo. It was 27 degrees and the radiator was on with a gushing water sound for hours. No one knew what it was we had to figure it. The radiator keeps coming on at times so we’re in a sauna basically. No aircons just a fan. The third floor smelt of cigarettes. We had hot water in the bathroom basin but not in the shower. Breakfast was horrible don’t waste your time. Weird looking bacon, Vienna type sausages. We basically left a night early cos we could not spend another second there. The only helpful person was a housekeeper everyone else was just playing like they know nothing. Also going through renovations that really impacts your stay

Horrific
Pros:

It was only a 10 minute walk to the wedding venue we attended.

Cons:

We sadly didn’t proceed to stay the 2 days and actually stayed the one night. This was due to another room partying in from 12-3am, slamming doors and kicking off. We was meant to be in a family room but felt like we was in the room. When I called the staff member on shift at 3am he didn’t answer my calls, however did call me back to state “They were going to bed”. He didn’t help the situation at all by investigating who it was or even knocking on the door to tell them to be quiet. He was rude to me and did not care why I was calling I stressed to him I am pregnant and have a 2 year old and it wasn’t acceptable. He just said “well not every customer is happy and maybe I should speak to the manager the next day” I was worried the whole night and could not bare to stay another night.

The next day we addressed this with another staff member who said he will have a word with the people he thinks it could have been. However we were later told that the people involved said “it wasn’t them but the bars down the road we must of heard”. This is also laughable as me and my partner heard them at breakfast in their group talking about coming in late, kicking the door in and having a “wild night”.

After the wedding I said to my partner the situation was handled poorly by the first staff member and I couldn’t deal with the stress of another night at this hotel. I lost sleep and I didn’t feel safe staying there.

Not to mention out room had peeling wallpaper the bins were filthy when I changed the liner. Stains on the carpets. The extractor fan in the shower didn’t work so it was so hot and misty.

The staff member who checked us in tried charging us for parking and breakfast when we already paid, he has no clue who I booked the room for and the room we was expecting didn’t look like the photo. I was told he works there once a week so his attitude was all about not caring about his customer service skills.

He was also the same person who dealt with my noise complaint poorly.

Not the best.
Pros:

The bed was comfy.

Cons:

This property is under refurbishment. We were not told about this prior to booking. Everything is covered in fine dust even the hangars in the wardrobe. We had booked a twin room but there was also a double room. It was very basic. No chairs in either room. No bedside table in the twin room just 2 beds and a TV.
The stairs were not in use upto any floor, just a very small lift. My partner is claustrophobic so doesn't use lifts. Only the 3rd floor is open to guests so had to ask if he could use the stairs, which the manager really didn't want him to do.
The hot and cold taps in the bathroom were the wrong way round (this was reported to the desk staff) and the water from the 'cold' tap was really hot, would have badly scalded a child. There was no plug for the sink either ( also reported). There were dirty marks on the wall near sink and towel rail. But the towels were very clean. One of the single duvets had a stain on it.
There were no catering facilities on site and we were informed at check-in that we could get breakfast at their sister hotel down the road!
The receptionist on check-in day didn't know how to use the bar and after I showed her, there was then no change in the till. This happened on two occasions.
This hotel should not be taking paying guests it is not fit for purpose. I will not be recommending it to anyone.

We were lucky as weather good, would have been different if bad. We made the most of the weekend as best we could. The o
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Hotel under refurbishment, we were not told. We received message rom hotel and Booking.com in the morning and both stated meals would be served in there restaurant and neither mentioned any work being carried out.First room was awful, view was all building rubble and rubbish, door would not lock had to call maintenance and they could not sort it, we had to change rooms. Only room available was a self contained flat on fourth floor, which was ok but had to stop lift at third floor and walk through where builders were working, no carpet and very dusty, walk up stairs to the apartment. This was nice and new. We had breakfast included but we had to walk down the hill to a sister hotel, The Hermitage, when we arrived were treated like we just walked off the street, they were not expecting us, kept us waiting while they checked it out! This happened both mornings. We used the pool and sauna room, this was filthy and so run down should not really be used.
