Super spa stay
Pros:

A lovely relaxing break including a massage and gym access. The staff in the hotel, gym and spa were all friendly, helpful and efficient. The location of the hotel is not the most picturesque but it is not far from Durham centre by car or is walkable if you’re fit enough. Plenty of pubs, supermarkets and fast food places nearby and there is food available in the gym cafe.

Good hotel stay and staff were helpful and friendly
Pros:

Room was large and beds comfortable, bathroom clean and practical with good toiletries provided

Cons:

Paid £15 each to use the health spa pool, a little bit overpriced as not the same quality as other Bannatyne pools I have used.

Happy with it
Pros:

Lovely and clean and comfortable. We used the bus a lot and this was just up the road . So for us it was ideal.

Cons:

Didn't realise you had to pay for the leisure centre Thiught it was in the hotel price and couldnt remember being asked by booking.com if we wanted a pass at a reduced rate So though 15 pound was a lot for a swim.

Great place to be.
Pros:

The room , location, clean and bar at reception.

Cons:

The pool . I was surprised that I have to pay and wasn't included in the room price.
I thought that would be free to use for people staying at the hotel.

Acceptable but external building needs an upgrade
Pros:

Room was clean and relatively modern.

Cons:

It wasn’t clear in my booking that the pool and gym facilities were not included when booking via a third party. £15 is an expensive swim!

Very rude unhelpful spa staff. Not allowed in spa area for a swim or breakfast as photo I'd required. New rules after our booking was made which we were not informed about.

Pros:

The location is very good and quiet. It was very close to the city center and few stores.

Cons:

There is no Air conditioner in the room despite this hot summer. We had to open our windows for a bit of air to come in throughout the night. Windows closed to the road and trees which makes our room a target fir the moths.
