Disappointing, look elsewhere for better value.
Pros:

This is my fourth time staying at Somerset Ampang. I first stayed at the property back in 2015.
- The best thing about the hotel is still its location, which is only a 5-10 minute walk to KLCC and other nearby malls that have sprung up in the last 5 years.
- The rooftop pool remains enjoyable for an early morning or nighttime swim. It's amazing to be up there during sunrise and sunset.
- I was happy that there was no music playing in the pool area, as this was annoying on my previous visit (2017).
- Staff are helpful when asked for information.
- You can fill your water bottle using the free dispensers provided in the hotel corridors.

Cons:

The hotel is showing its age. Fixtures and fittings in the room are worn and chipped, corridors have marks on the walls, and my room's door had large scratches on the outside. This unfortunately gives the hotel a worn and run down feel.
- The jacuzzi on the roof does not work, no matter how many times the green button is pressed.
- Photos of the hotel are outdated. A lot of the old embassies in the area have been demolished and replaced by large tower blocks. The view from the rooftop pool shown in the hotel's photos is no longer accurate. There is a large Embassy Suites complex opposite blocking the view, and the swimming pool will soon be overlooked by another large residential tower that's nearing completion.
- Housekeeping seemed to attend my room at very strange times. For example, two male housekeepers attended my room at 7pm on a Friday night. This could pose an inconvenience for family stays.
- My room was the Studio premier on Level 9. I have to say this is the worst room I've stayed in at Somerset Ampang.
- First, the AC was extremely noisy, especially at night. It can be turned off but you're in for a sweaty night if you do so. I had to sleep with ear plugs in just to get some rest. Not exactly a relaxing experience.
- Second, room soundproofing was poor. There is a family room next door and I could hear children yelling as if they were in the room with me, particularly through the bathroom wall / air vent.
- Third, the bed in this room is showing serious age. It has a large divot where so many people have slept on it, and the pillows were old and poor quality. Two pillows were provided: One was extremely soft, the other barely had any filling. One pillowcase was not clean, it had multiple hairs on it when I arrived to the room. The other pillow was old and stained yellow. See the attached picture.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying at Somerset Ampang based on my experience.

Большие апарты с отдельной спальней и даже окном в ванной, на крыше бассейн с красивым видом. Быстрая и удобная регистрация на стойке ресепшн

Cons:

Номер не очень новый, атмосфера такая местами печальная. Рядом стройка нового ЖК, но мешает только проходу к отелю по дороге. Почему-то нельзя плавать в бассейне на крыше после 23. Интернет не очень быстрый

A képeket valószínüleg 10 éve csinálhatták, mert a valóságban teljese másképp( rosszabbul!) néz ki a szoba.

Cons:

A reggeliről a helyszínen derült ki, hogy naponta egy “ zacskóban kapjuk” a kaját amiért reggelente le kell mennünk.
A szoba, amit kaptunk rendkívül lelakott és büdös, dohos volt! Igaz amint jeleztük rögtön kaptunk egy másikat. A lakásról készült képek nem tükrözik a valóságot, azokat már rég csinálhatták.
Lelakott, elavult volt.
A fenti medence is nagyon lepusztult.

Pros:

Die Lage war super, gleich in der Nähe einer Ubahnstation. Das Apartment war sehr groß und sauber. Badewanne & Regendusche waren super und es gab auch einen begehbaren Kleiderschrank. Die Waschmaschine funktionierte einwandfrei, es gab sogar Waschmittel. Gegenüber des Zimmers am Gang gab es Wasserspender für gefiltertes Trinkwasser.

Cons:

Beim Pool waren immer brüllende Kinder, konnte man leider nicht genießen. Das Zimmer wirkte ein bisschen altmodisch.

Please fix the interior lights. Lights plays a vital role in creating pleasing atmosphere.

Location and cleanliness is great. Somerset Medini Iskandar Puteri made me try this hotel in KL. Somerset Medini impressed me so well but this hotel turned out the other way.

Cons:

Lighting very very poor. Too dim and creepy. Not ideal to get ready if attending important events. Parking had to pay RM10 per entry despite spending hundreds for stay. Fan is so slow even setting it to maximum. Might be small thing but it's not for people having sinus problem like me cannot be in conditioned air whole time. TV remote out of battery. I bought my own batteries during my stay.
