The location of the hotel was excellent. The linens were clean and the bed comfortable. The common areas are nice.
Off site hotel staff. When we has a problem with the parking,it took a while to get hold of someone. The off site parking is very inconvient. The decor of the room was thrown together. Some of the furniture looked like it was pick up at a garage sale. The bathroom was small. Our room faced a noisy street and the room was too light at night. I could read a book with the curtains drawn and lights off.
The hotel was a good stay in Quebec, just a few minutes walk from the centre on Rue St Jean. We stayed there for a week in 3 rooms, and had all facilities.
One of the rooms' (4) bathroom was a bit humit and smelled bad.
Favolities
The bed
The location was absolutely what we were hoping for, coming from a place of unfamiliarity with Quebec City. There was SO much to do around it, it was an easy walk to most of the city (hills/staircases and all), and it got surprisingly quiet around there after hours, considering. The roof deck was incredible, and the hosts were very responsive and thoughtful to texts.
There was nothing about the Auberge that left anything to be desired. The Air conditioner squeaked a bit, but that's an easy fix. A white line and signage would be helpful between the two spaces behind the building so guests don't park in the middle (we had to negotiate with someone who didn't heed their instructions, but we got our car in, and the spot was incredibly convenient).
The apartment worked very well for our needs. It was within easy walking distance to the Centre des Congres, and rue St. Jean is an interesting neighbourhood with many amenities. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen well-equipped other than the lack of a microwave. It was quiet, even with fairly frequent traffic alongside. When we requested assistance by text, the response from hotel management was prompt.
Though we had no problem, this wouldn't be an easy accommodation for people with mobility issues.
There wasn't a microwave, though the Booking.com site indicated there was. We were advised to use the common room microwave instead, which is up a flight of stairs, fortunately not an accessibility issue for us.
There was a lack of clarity about housekeeping/refreshing of hand towels etc. It was available every 2 days, but it seemed that it had to be especially requested? It would be helpful to have a guide for guests in the room/apt, to advise them about this upon arrival.
L’emplacement
The deck on the roof looked nice in picture, reality was bare bones.
No cooking outside of a microwave. Air b nb always have cooking facilities.
Very dangerous steps and no fire sprinklers
Beds covered in a plastic protection bag.
I like the amenities and the cleaner of the house
I did not like the self checkin and there are nobody in the reception desk. The location is ok but not perfect
