Dirty and sloppy
Pros:

The front desk attendant was very nice and accommodating.

Cons:

The sheets had some concerning stains, so we asked for different sheets and were asked to change them ourselves. As we were changing the sheets we saw more concerning stains on the mattress protector, so they gave us a new mattress protector, but it was the wrong size despite the bag it saying it was the right size. Then they asked if we'd like to move rooms, which we agreed to since it had been at least an hour at that point and was past 2am. We got in the room and passed out. After we woke up we found twizzler bites on that ground that weren't ours. Definitely not going back if we have the option. The bed was also very squeaky.

Comfy, easy access to downtown area.
Pros:

Room was pleasantly larger than expected. Easy to get around downtown.

Cons:

A bit pricey for being in a smaller city like Des Moines, but most options downtown are similarly priced.

Pros:

It was close to my meetings. Staff was nice.

Cons:

It smelled bad. Furniture was very very used and wore out. Bed, couch, tables it was all bad.

Nice and responsive staff. Clean hotel. Elevators not idea. No parking available -sold out.
Pros:

I appreciated the space and the cleanliness. Staff were very friendly and when we called because the neighboring room had kids yelling and such, a staff person went to the room to ask the kids to be quiet and let them know that they would be removed should they continue - parents were not in the room.

Cons:

The elevators - it appeared that only one worked. This made for longer than ideal wait times at the elevator bank. Also, arrived at almost 9 p.m. and there were no parking spots available. Not a deal breaker, but would like to have been informed ahead of time of the limited number of spots. (Receptionist was fantastic about telling us what our other options were - much appreciated!) Couch, not comfy (handicap room). This hotel seemed to get a lot of "teams" for guests - they were loud and rude - but the staff dealt with them appropriately.

Location was great for our purpose
Pros:

Breakfast was really nice, on Sunday a little later would be awesome

Cons:

We expected a microwave in our room so that was disappointing. We stayed during a marathon so the street was closed, we were suggested to park on the street not knowing we would end up with a $20 parking ticket.
