The hotel has seen better days, the stairs to all the bedrooms were never hoovered during our four night stay. Housekeeping gave us fresh towels, tea and milk but did not empty the two bins or make the bed.

Sorry but would not return
Pros:

Great location, plenty of parking and generally clean. Also piping hot water.

Cons:

Hotel is very dated and shabby. The lighting is poor and the bed is very uncomfortable. The curtains should be replaced with block out linings as light streamed into the room in the early hours. Also very very noisy.

A place I would visit again and Thankyou to great, happy, hardworking staff.
Pros:

Great staff. Melrose is a great place to spend a couple of nights. A lovely area.

Cons:

Hotel is a bit tired but it’s an old building so difficult to “modernize”

Gute Lage - Mittelmäßige Ausstattung
Pros:

Lage mitten im Ort. Empfang war derbe aber herzlich.
Bar mit guter Bierauswahl und einfachem Speiseangebot.

Cons:

Badezimmer ist renovierungsbedürftig. Fußboden ist schief. Kleines TV . Wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten.

A very comfortable stay, staff were excellent and I would recommend a visit.
Pros:

The hotel is located very conveniently for the event we were attending. The breakfasts were excellent and the evening meals we had were very good. They serve good beers.

Cons:

I booked through Booking.com and for some reason they messed things up with room details, apparently not for the first time that weekend, so I wont be using them again. I stress, NOT the hotel's fault.

excellent value, friendly staff, choice of portion size. Great ethos.
Pros:

good central location. Warm welcome from staff. Bar staff very engaging. Perfect portion sizes, good choice of menu. Speedy service, cant fault anything.

This hotel is perfect for a reasonably priced holiday. It’s quiet, clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly.
Pros:

The location was perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable with a kettle and plenty of tea and coffee.
