A good place to stay / got plenty of charm
Great history - lots of character. Convenient on A25. Comfortable, good-sized room. Friendly staff. Good food.
Had to boil kettle on floor; socket was loose at wall. One bedside light not working - old plug had round pins, but no suitable socket! Easy to bang head in bathroom due to quirky layout. There was some (expected) traffic noise.
The staff were exceptional. Brian the owner was very helpful & kind. The chef was very kind & served us with a smile. Breakfast was very good.
A fan in the bedroom would’ve been very welcome as it was very hot. Plus the automatic light in the bathroom was very bright. 🙂
Location good breakfast was good chef very friendly and helpful
Rooms excellent was a bit expensive I thought but overall the stay was excellent
Excellent breakfast served by a lovely girl.
Very comfy bed and nice warm room.
Cold bathroom and no hooks for towels.
Laundry left on landing.
Rooms comfortable and newly refurbished. Lovely old pub with warm open fire all original features.
Breakfast was OK a little cold. Rooms were cold.
The historical but modern feel
No disabled facilities
Disappointed that the room we were given was none of the photos displayed on the advert
Lovely staff
Too Cold at night
Historische Räumlichkeiten
Sehr laut vom unten liegenden Pub
Charming character property, basic but very clean and cosy room, excellent dining area and food (dinner was great too, not just breakfast) and very friendly staff
No major faults - all very good for the money
Friendly staff, nice location
Cold room, could hear others above and next door, breakfast was poor. Room was small with no space to really leave bags. No cupboard, or hangers for clothes. No chest of drawers.
Good for our trip purpose
The location was excellent, just what we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals excellent. We have known this hotel for many years, in bad times, really bad times and now, after a major renovation, in excellent times. The building has been transformed and is now most welcoming and beautifully decorated. If anything even more should be done to inform guests of the building's amazing history. The hotel was transformed for us for a major ,50+, private lunch party which was quite excellent. We stayed two nights and would recommend this hotel to anyone requiring accommodation in the Bletchingley/Reigate area.
We have stayed in many hotels over the years so are able to identify areas we would like to see improvement. We found the room we had was really too small for a couple and with only one chair rather tedious to relax in. In addition, although there were several power point sockets in the room there were none located adjacent to the only "table" in the room for ease of charging mobile phones, laptops etc. Even the kettle power point was at floor level.
Very small room for the price.
Tv didn’t work. Very expensive for a room only just bigger than the bed.
Brian stayed up despite the flight being delayed by about four hours due to storms in Dublin. As a result, I arrived here well after 1 am and they welcomed me warmly even helping to carry luggage upstairs AND entertained my request for a specific room, which I had chosen due to the charm of it
