The staf were really welcoming and generally very helpful.
SPA was nice and relaxing.
The stay was ruined by the fact that we booked in for dinner, but as we went to the restaurant we were told that they were only serving room service menu. The choice of food quite unacceptable !! That meant that we had to go out of the hotel for dinner.
Immaculately clean and very welcoming
It is a lovely gesture to provide a complementary drink on arrival and I’m sure the tea drinkers were very happy but the lack of coffee as an option was slightly disappointing
Our room was perfect. Just what we needed to have a relaxing quiet couple of days.
The staff were very friendly and polite. Especially the receptionist who was on when we arrived on Sunday at about 2.30.
She went over and above to accommodate our requirements. Thank you.
The hydro pool was brilliant and it was great seeing the stars from the outside part of the pool.
We had 2 very good and nicely cooked breakfasts.
All in all a great stay.
There were a few spots that could have done with a better clean.
Good location, easily accessible for walking into town. Value for money. Friendly service .
Noisy feather pillows, mattress a bit too soft - felt like I was going to roll out of bed. Car parking for residents the furthest away. Day visitors get to park directly outside of the reception
Spacious room and bathroom , warm, very comfortable bed. Powerful shower complimentary toiletries, tea coffee and water in room.
Breakfast adequate for our taste, cooked breakfast very nicely presented .
Dinner on first evening was delicious.
Hotel is a very old building and full of character.
Spa was good, complimentary robes provided steam room and sauna was great. Jacuzzi and hot tub also enjoyable.
Beautiful gardens which we enjoyed walking around despite it being March.
I brought some fresh flowers with me and asked the lady on reception for a vase. She brought it to our room within minutes.
Pot holes in the car park and access road could be filled in.
One shower and the spin dryer for wet swimming costume in ladies changing room was out of order. This however did not affect our enjoyment of the facilities.
The room was lovely, love the patio area, I had a great night's sleep, breakfast was delicious, the spa was delightful and relaxing, thats why we keep coming back, can't wait to stay again, thankyou to a great team 😀
Nothing
Really comfortable bed, wonderfully decorat3d rooms and a powerful shower! Always a plus
The complementary bottle.of water was a lovely touch aswell.
There was a window that wouldnt close fully, this was just that there was a small brass fitting missing so the window was closed but slightly adjar at all times.
The staff were great, room was stunning, spa was so relaxing and clean. Unbelievable value for money. Will definitely be back.
Restful
A bit shabby. Needs redecorating almost everywhere.
Nice spa
The breakfast and staff weren't up to standard.
The spa has been refurbished and is nice
I have been coming here for years and used to be a member of the spa and gym. It has been getting very tatty and I was hopeful that when it was taken over by Montigo Resorts it would go back to its former quality. Unfortunately not. There was a leak in the roof of the restaurant with buckets catching the water, the room was a bit tatty and the photos for the “Junior Suite” were of two different rooms- if you want the one with the free-standing bath in the bedroom you have to specify this on booking- I was very disappointed to not get the room I was expecting. The water ran cold then finally got (there are notices saying you have to run the water for a while) - this wasn’t a problem but it went cold again and never went hot, not enough for a full bath, had to top up with kettles of water. I got a discount with Booking but it was still grossly overpriced for what it was, I won’t be staying here again. Such a shame, as it has the potential to be a fabulous country house hotel. Very disappointed.
