Overpriced, facilities in poor shape (eg view of a decaying tennis court in front of the hotel entrance), mediocre dinner, rudimentary breakfast served by a rude waitress, bed duvet all lumpy (not a big issue, but surely you can at least put something comfortable on the bed). Not a disastrous stay, but it certainly fell well short of expectations considering the high price of a stay.

Windows only opened a cm and no air conditioning so room was stifling. One member of staff serving in bar with lots of customers. Tables were left uncleared as not enough staff. Lovely gardens but hard furniture that were missing the cushions. This is a management issue, the young untrained staff tried their best, but had no support, were left without a manager on site.

Quiet & Comfortable
Pros:

The hotel is in a very quiet location, the food is good and the bed is comfortable. We really appreciated Olivia going out of her way to help us select a room that was suitable for someone with Asthma. It made such a difference to our stay.

We had a brilliant stay! Thank you for making a family celebration special!

Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds. Staff are excellent. We had the banquet menu for a party of 15 and it was very good. We were given a table in the orangery that facilitated all of us and breakfast was also very good. Jo helped me organise this family celebration and was very helpful & efficient.

Cons:

We visited during a heatwave and our room was very hot. The staff were very helpful and supplied us with two fans. The windows had child safety locks so I couldn’t open them fully. Maybe consider ceiling fans/airco and removable safety locks?
