Breve soggiorno, ma stupendo
Pros:

La struttura è ben tenuta, pulita, accogliente. La posizione è perfetta per visitare ChichenItza e i vari Cenote , che si trovano a pochi minuti. Il personale è estremamente gentile, accogliente. Consigliatissimo.!

Nice place but a bit expensive
Pros:

A beautiful location with gardens, next to the jungle. The pool was welcome. Very comfortable beds. Great staff.

Cons:

The rule about fining guests for having snacks or drinks in their room seemed unreasonable. A bit expensive all round. Food was good but we both reacted to something and were unwell the next day. No longer an easy walk to Chichen itza. You need a taxi now, with the new entrance

Not somewhere I’d ever return to
Pros:

The Jaguars in the zoo were phenomenal

Cons:

It is outdated, uncomfortable mattress, the sheet did not fit on the bed so intended up sleeping on the bare mattress, the pillow slips were too small for the pillows so did not cover the pillow, it was clean but felt dirty. The purse area at our room was not clean. The putt putt is in desperate need of repair and full of leaves and twigs. The breakfast was below average

Staff gracious and accommodating. Location perfect. We checked out at noon but the staff let us stay by the pool until 4
Pros:

The property was set in a delightful location with a beautiful swimming pool nestled between gorgeous trees. It was quiet and very peaceful. The staff could not have been nicer. The restaurant was also wonderful. The menu was varied and food delicious and not overpriced. We were disappointed when our stay ended and we had to leave

Cons:

Having to leave. One of the best hotels I have ever visited

A beautiful quiet estate
Pros:

The property is beautifully spread out and perfect for resting after visiting Chichen Itzá. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The pool was the perfect temperature and great after a very hot day.

Cons:

Hooks for wet towels would be helpful in the bathroom.

Cons:

- Conversion rate scam (room is in USD but they charge in MX$ at their own rate)
- Despite being extremely close to Chichen Itza and a direct walking path, you are being forced to take a 5mim car ride instead. Very misleading

Pros:

Hacienda in traumhaftem tropischen Garten
Pros:

It is the least welcoming and inhospitable hotels to stay in. The mosquitos make it very difficult and this is complimen
Pros:

The hotel us in very nice grounds with a good pool and lots of birds

Cons:

There are so many mosquitoes that it isn’t possible to sit out and even when swimming you get bitten a lot. The management also have numerous strange rules such as fining guest if they bring in any food or beverages which is very odd. They seem very concerned with making as much money as possible from guests. The food at the restaurant is good but hugely overpriced and the a $5 bottle of wine is sold for $55

Historic hotel that needs a bit of work
Pros:

Great location for Chichen Itza in order to arrive there as soon as it opens. You need to drive or take a taxi as there is no private entrance- even though this is suggested. The grounds are beautiful, the food in the restaurant is good. The gift shop is lovely, the pool was nicer than expected.

Cons:

The rooms are really basic and in need of renovation. Lunch/dinner is expensive, tipping is requested- I prefer to do this myself rather than be specifically asked for cash by the waiter.... Take insect repellent!!

Just average
Pros:

We stayed for one night in order to visit Chichen Itza at 8am before the crowds. The hotel is based around a lovely historic building but the rooms, which are scattered around the grounds are really disappointing. They are very basic, worn and in desperate need of renovation. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is big and very nice. Be aware of the mozzies and other little bugs that bite all day long- we were eaten alive at the pool and my usual trusty spray from the UK was not working at all......

We ate lunch, an evening meal, and breakfast at the hotel. The food is nice, but very expensive. They clearly have a captive audience and take advantage of that. They make a big point of you not being allowed any outside food or drinks - then perhaps make your prices a bit more reasonable....

There is no direct access to the archeological site- you need to arrange transport to the entrance.

Hacienda Chichen — Verify Archaeological Zone Access Before You Book
Pros:

The setting is genuinely remarkable — colonial architecture wrapped in dense jungle gardens, with a beautiful pool and staff attentive enough to pull you aside and show you a nesting owl. That kind of place-specific magic is hard to manufacture.

But the experience has real rough edges. The rooms feel dated relative to the price point, and the walls are thin enough that you'll know your neighbors intimately.

More frustrating: several sources still describe direct access to the Chichen Itza archaeological zone, which no longer exists — worth knowing before you book. Small operational failures compounded this: taxis requested but not followed through on, and notices about outside food and drink posted with a tone that doesn't match a property at this price tier. The restaurant leans expensive, particularly for wine, which matters more here than it would in town given how far you are from alternatives.

Thin walls, but rooms are spotlessly clean if a bit dated.

The birdwatching program looks excellent, but was booked for the time that worked for us. Book early or confirm availability on arrival.

If the grounds and atmosphere are your priority, you'll find them here. Come with adjusted expectations on the rest.
