The property was beautiful and our bedroom was equally as nice. However, getting into the bathroom was very dangerous. We had to step down into it. My husband took a shower when we first got there and forgot about the step (which should be labeled more clearly with a yellow strip and a small handrail). He fell going into the bedroom and landed flat on his face. This should definitely be addressed by management.
The step down bathroom.
The room was large, bright and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The balcony overlooked the lake and was a great spot for an evening cocktail. We walked to the boardwalk about a block and a half away and had a lovely evening stroll. The area is very quiet and the hotel is surrounded by large houses. There is no shopping within walking distance.
The breakfast could have been better but didn't really detract from the stay as we are not big early morning eaters but would have appreciated coffee earlier than 8. But that is nit picking and doesn't really affect our overall appreciation of the hotel.
The scenery, the quietness

Location
Cleanliness and room didn’t not look like picture. Not as cozy as we had hoped
My wife and I appreciated the old-world charm, of The Hewitt Wellington. The spacious suite, the decor, and overall aesthetic.
N/A - There were no negatives, related to our stay, at The Hewitt Wellington.
Great location and nice views of the lake-short walk to ocean/town.
I’ve stayed at Hewitt Wellington a number of time’s and it depends on the space as these rooms have different owners. We found unit 2 to be quite outdated, not cleaned very well, and could have much better linens. This apartment is an especially great location in the building but could be so much nicer with updates and some TLC.
Beautiful, comfortable!!
Nothing
I loved everything: the chill and cozy vibe, white, new everything in unique room and bath, the staff helped our travelers with an issue very easily, the lighting everywhere, the fireplace, extra sitting and game rooms with hot chocolate and coffee bars, and especially how quiet it was with the short carpeted hallways and floors with the little creaks like you were at your grandma’s house. You even use a real key for your door!
Nothing. It was perfect. The setting, the view, everything about every inch of the place and the rooms and huge bathrooms.
The HW is an amazing historic hotel in the amazing town of Spring Hill. The hotel was beautiful and well-maintained, and the service was friendly and efficient. Our suite in a turret of the building was a delight. And it didn’t cost a fortune! My expectations were high — and they were all exceeded!
This is the place we stay every year now for Christmas when visiting with family. Whether arriving on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, the staff is always so pleasant. We really appreciate the personal phone call when our room is ready. Usually we are in the car and it is good to know then room is ready when we arrive. The hotel has a lot of charm with each room is a bit different with beautiful wood molding. We have tried other places in the area but this is the one for us. Others are not as nice or require a minimum of 3 overnights. It is very clean and quiet around the holidays. It is also a good value that such that we book separate rooms for our 2 adult children. if there is a downside, it is the breakfast. It is not bad just limited. We drink tea and sometimes the hot water is not hot enough to make tea. We can work around that by using the microwave.
The hotel location is beautiful and near restaurants and shops.
Staff is friendly and eager to please.
Room large, clean and nicely decorated.
Breakfast could be improved.
