This hotel is delightful. The staff are excellent and very accommodating. The food is amazing. Highly recommended.
Need plug sockets next to bed.
The beds were extremely comfortable with good quality bed linen and great pillows.
The restaurant was very good. Our meals on both nights were excellent with lovely staff.
You can get a voucher for 15% off entrance to Beamish Living Museum which was very useful.
Lots of parking.
The walls between rooms were so thin we heard three full telephone conversations.
The position of the television in the rooms means it is directly behind the next room's beds, so we had to listen to a football match as well. Luckily, the visitor had the good manners to switch it off at 10.30pm.
Leaving up the wedding area, which was immediately outside our room is tacky and it's very dated. Surely,
a separate area for this could be made available.
Having parking outside the ground floor rooms like a motel is a good idea; if only residents parked outside their own room.
Location perfect for beamish museum visit, breakfast very good and a well balanced choice on the evening restaurant menu. Good comfortable lounge to relax in.
Nothing really, USB outlets in bedrooms would be useful.
Lovely friendly staff. Good value for money.
Hotel clean and staff very helpful . Great place to stay.
Not great for sockets and none beside the beds , so not so easy to charge your phone when
Booked for two nights to visit Beamish. Great location friendly staff great food hotel very clean.
A great find
All good
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the general ambience and the food were both good.
The hotel is badly in need of fresh investment in the bedrooms/bathrooms. The mattress was too soft and the bathroom very dated and in fact dangerous. There is no suitable grab handle to climb into the bath, which is a fair step up, and I slipped and fell backwards out of the bath, when trying to climb in. I was very lucky not to incur any injury. The shower is a Mira design which is at least 30 years old, and works very inadequately. I would say that the bathrooms have been partly refurbished more recently, but the showers were ignored, and the lack of any grab handles to climb into the bath is inexcusable. Also, the lighting above the bed is inadequate and it is not possible to read in bed.
Stayed for one night when in area. Friendly and attentive receptionist on arrival. Room was very clean and spacious and quiet. Took evening meal in Bistro which was busy with a very good atmosphere. Meal was very high standard and much better than expected. Would stay again if in area.
I would have liked a lift to upper floor. Also a walk in shower as stepping bath is problematic.
The location and surroundings of this hotel are excellent, as was the sunday lunch/tea and the overall experience of staying there. Great parking too!
I am unclear why the towel rail/heating was on in the room and throughout the hotel in June. The towel rail couldn't be turned off and was too hot to touch in any case, it was on all night! Overall the hotel was kept unnecessarily warm.
Always a friendly welcome and very helpful staff
On this occasion we had our 4 month old puppy with us, and have to sit in the lounge bar unfortunately we were put on a small round table for 3 adults very little room for all the dishes and drinks, for suited for 2 people….
everything. food was a little expensive in the restaurant. Accommodation was lovely.
Location, food and the staff
Room very warm but staff provided a fan quickly which worked well.
Smiling, extra helpful and friendly staff upon arrival.
Spacious bedroom & bed.

Receptionist not as friendly as the day when I arrived. Bit more sour faced. (Different receptionist).
Very noisy at night - people slamming doors & noisy in the hallway.
Modern and convenient to Beamish museum
Lino floor sticky
