Warm and welcoming place to stay.
Pros:

We have just returned from The Beamish Park Hotel and really cannot understand the negative comments about the hotel in other reviews.
We received a warm friendly welcome on arrival. Our room was fairly spacious and very clean. We booked a dog friendly room and our little fella was made very welcome by everyone. There was a great basket, bowls and a lovely bag of treats for him.
The staff in the hotel are really lovely and friendly. They truly are a credit to the owner. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you all concerned.
We really can’t complain about the quality of the food either. We ate there both nights of our stay and throughly enjoyed it. The menu was great providing a good choice with something to suit all tastes. Breakfast was very good as well. Our dog even received a sausage.
Once again thank you all for making our stay such a pleasure and hope to return soon.

Great staff but watch out for bar prices.
Pros:

The staff, in general, are lovely and very helpful and the food is exceptionally good. Our dinner far exceeded our expectations in terms of quality.

Cons:

The cost of a glass of wine in the bar appeared extortionate at £11+ when a bottle at dinner was £26+ so we did not spend as much time as we planned socialising in the bar after dinner. When everything else appeared to be reasonably priced, the hotel lost what would have been an evening’s spending for 4 friends who were on holiday because of overcharging on the wine. It left us with a poor impression based on greed rather than the good impression we had elsewhere.

Pros:

Very friendly staff. Lovely food.

Cons:

The price of the wine. We paid £28 for 2 glasses of sauvignon blanc in the bar area.

Not value for money, I’ve stayed in better chain hotels.
Pros:

We were attending a wedding and thought we would couple that with a night away. The cost of staying at this hotel is not worth it. We paid £181 for one night with breakfast. The rooms are very dated although the bed was comfortable and the benefit of sliding doors with parking outside was a nice touch. The room was too hot with no way of controlling the temperature and, the shower was old and did not deliver very good pressure. Tea and coffee facilities were OK although the kettle could have done with a descale.

Although we didn’t take advantage of the bistro we did have breakfast and it was ok with a good continental selection, however the bacon was deep fried and the fried egg was overcooked, coffee was acceptable. As we were attending my son’s wedding we were disappointed in the wedding breakfast. The main course was roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, the beef was well cooked, diced vegetables were awful and the fondant potato was undercooked, York pud was ok.

The staff were personable but a little hoity toity, they weren’t friendly and my partner was turned away from the public bar during the wedding breakfast as there were no staff to work it, there was a bar in the function room but we weren’t aware of it as we couldn’t see it from where we were seated.

This hotel is trying to hard to be something’s it’s not, in its hay day it may have offered luxurious value for money but those days are over.

We wouldn’t go out of our way to stay here again.

Enjoyable stay for a wedding but a very dated property
Pros:

Great location, clean and the common areas were well maintained. Ground floor rooms have patio doors with parking directly outside.

Cons:

Rooms were very dated, shower old with low pressure. As we were there for a wedding we didn’t use the restaurant other than for breakfast, which was ok, food at the wedding was OK. Definitely not value for money

Im not one for leaving reviews but this place deserves it.
Pros:

Im not one for leaving reviews but this place deserves it.

What an amazing beautiful venue/hotel. We paid £114 for our room ( plus a charge of £15 per dog,we had 2 dogs with us) Check in was quick and easy. Once we were in our room, they delivered a dog bed and snacks for our dogs and bowls. This was such a nice touch.

The rooms (Absolutely LOVE THEM) you can gain access from the inside of the hotel or you have a sliding door that opens to your own personal parking where you can park your car literally right outside your room. ( It was like having our own private chalet) The sliding doors provide bright light into the room but come with black out blinds that actually blocks out the sun, so you can have a lay in, in the morning. The rooms were so warm and cosy and very spacious. You got your tea's and coffee's and complimentary toiletries/hairdryer/tv ect. The bathroom had a very spacious bath with a shower over. The pressure was amazing and boiling hot water ( which I love for a hot bath) heated towel rails kept the bathroom so cosy and nothing beats a warm towel. LOADS of cupboard space in the room including hanging.

When we arrived there was a wedding being held and i thought this is going to be one noisy night, but i was wrong. You can hear slight base from the venue where they have music playing. But this seemed to have stopped around 1.30am. But wasn't loud enough to keep us awake. The rooms were very quiet. The only time you would hear people, is if they were walking past your door (from inside the hotel) talking to each other. You dont hear any slamming doors or neighbours flushing toilets.

They have a lounge, dinning area and then another garden inspired area( I think for events). All so beautiful decorated and cosy relaxing vibes. Food was amazing!! And the prices incredibly reasonable!!! (They also offer room service, which is a absolute BONUS)

Plenty of parking space and staff were super friendly. You can walk along side the golf course and into a field with a walk way alongside it. Quiet and beautiful. Over all I will definitely be booking here again. It was above and beyond my expectations. Im originally from South Africa and I haven't found much accommodation in the UK I would take the time to write about. But I was so happy with this place I had to.

Pros:

Room was spacious, bed comfortable & all very clean. Stayed 3 nights & room was serviced every day, biscuits replenished which was very welcome!! Staff were efficient & friendly, ate in restaurant 3 nights, food was very good each night!! Breakfast was cooked to order which was great! Dislike buffet breakfast food!! Had a lovely stay! Will be back!!

Cons:

Shower was a bit iffy! But it still worked well once you'd figured out the temperature gauge!!
