Tropicana Lagoon Apartments

Great staff and location. I would be very happy to stay there again in the future!

Fantastic outdoor facilities, beautiful spot to enjoy the sunset by the water. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Noisy the room next to me sounded like they were in my room. Shower dribbled out with no hot water most days.

We stayed at Tropicana for a week in August. We chose this hotel as we needed a kitchen and a separate bedroom, both of which it had. The size of our two bedroom apartment was fantastic and the crockery and saucepans seemed to be brand new.

Unfortunately, this is where the positives ended for us. Everything seemed too hard for the staff at Tropicana. Our package included plunger coffee and a continental breakfast of fruit. 3 out of 7 mornings we were told the plunger was “broken.” Unless a plunger is smashed on the floor, how does it break? It was pure laziness and the staff did not want to make coffee. 2 of our mornings we were told there was no fruit.

We requested extra washing up detergent, milk, oat milk (which had been served on previous days) and a few breakfast items such as bacon, to which we were told on every occasion, they had none.

The shower was not nice. We came out of the shower feeling more dirty than when we went in. The bathroom towels were revolting.

Do not get me started on the beds… all you had to do was blink and it sounded like an earthquake. The bed was rock hard and the sound resembled sleeping on plastic bottles.

We ended up going to other resorts and using their facilities for the day (restaurants and pools) and the staff seemed surprised we were doing this and not using the facilities at Tropicana.

Getting a bus to and from Tropicana was very easy.

We had the best family holiday in Vanuatu, just not at Tropicana.

Bed terrible dogs bark all night room dirty smells like a swamp in that area

I don’t get to eat or dining there much But I love staying there for holidays and I recommend this for any one who need to have a quiet and peaceful mine of rest, please choose Tropicana..

The staff was very kind and helpful, but there were several problems. 1) They did not have our correct booking so one of our rooms wasn't ready. 2) The hot water heaters didn't have batteries. 3) One room only had one towel for three people. More towels were requested but never came. 4) The fridge didn't work. 5) It advertised a/c but the bedrooms didn't have a/c. Only the main living area. 6) The shower leaked severely all over the bathroom floor. The view was lovely, but the efficiency of the apartments were severely lacking, making it a somewhat frustrating stay. :(

A smaller quiet resort that suits me.
The meals were homely and delicious.
Staff very friendly and obliging.
It is probably older since the webpage photos but I found my stay pleasant and comfortable.

The staff was lovely, the grounds was well kept, the rooms need work, all the guests I met complained about their rooms, all of us had to have our rooms changed. Ants crawling in lines on the walls, one room has glass shutters falling off, the lagoons isn’t as nice looking as in the pictures. The restaurant food is over priced for what your get, the food wasn’t good but without other choices near by they purposely overcharge. I would never recommend to anyone.

I was extremely disappointed with Tropicana Lagoon Apartments. There's two things you ask for when you travel a good bed and a decent shower, both were below par at this property. Mould in the showers, dirty dirty bathroom. Bed was hard as a rock, no additional bedding or pillows. Apartments serviced every other day, no fresh towels, milk, coffee or basic needs. I would not recommend this property to anyone. If we could have changed to another property we would have in a heartbeat. It's not as advertised!!!!

It had good location and nice views

This property is on a Lagoon and to go to a beach with the ocean is a little bid difficult. You should consider to rent a car. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They showed me how to stop the little buses , where you can reach the city and also one nice beach. They have a wonderful garden and a small pool is also there. It was a pleasant stay.

On going maintenance is constantly needed due to climate and age of buildings. We had a comfortable stay though. Staff were helpful and provided the few items missing from our room. Only a short walk from a big supermarket and a local produce market.

The staff was very friendly and helpful but the property not as described. Run down especially the bathroom. Towels looked dirty and kitchen very limited. There was no shuttle to town, had to get transport ourselves, TV only had 2 channels and internet hardly working. No access in the rooms and password constantly changed

Nice place great location but is in need of some maintenance work Wi-Fi and hot water were very intermittent

Property has a nice pool and restaurant on site. Need to take a bus or hire a car to get anywhere else (other than to the little supermarket about a 5 minute walk away).
Rooms are in dire need of an upgrade, beds are super squeaky, mattresses are not very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom especially needs to be fixed as even though they're cleaned daily look dirty. Bathroom floods with every shower as the water leaks from the shower.
Staff are lovely, Kim the manager is more than happy to help with what's around or organise transport, always a smile on her face. The ladies who clean the rooms are super friendly and do the best they can.

This review is made in the following context:
1. Our to stay at Tropicana Lagoon Apartment was about 5 weeks after Vanuatu was hit by 2 devastating cyclones;
2. Vanuatu is a poor and an undeveloped country and therefore ease of access to modern comfort is limited.
We stayed 7 days and was allocated a family room opposite the pool. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by Kim the site manager. She was the perfect hostess for the whole duration of our stay.
With respect to the room facilities, the air conditioning units are old and not of acceptable working standard if was in Australia. However, this is Vanuatu. We set the temperature to 16 C and with the assistance of the ceiling fan, they provided sufficient comfort. Like the a/c the refrigerator works but is not of acceptable working standard. It was erratic and there were days when the fridge did not work. In the final days we discovered that the adaptor used to plug the refrigerator is loose. Finally, the shower tap leaked. Having made the above remarks, overall, our stay was pleasant and comfortable.

Very disappointed - nothing like the website photos, very old, dated and more like a backpackers. A very costly exercise - we only stayed one night and lost money on 6 nights due to it being inside their cancellation policy. Very convenient for them seeing that it looks like a regular occurrence where guest check in and leave (without their money). You cant swim in the lagoon and it's far from town. Stay away.

Small quiet resort. Good meals in the restaurant. Kim in the office went out of her way to help us.
Small things could improve the stay - soap in the bathrooms, fresh towels without having to request them etc. Air conditioning unit struggled so room was warm - although cooler than outside temperature.
Beds were uncomfortable to the point our son slept on the living room furniture.

Booked a layover day and the hotel was fine but do not expect what is shown on the pictures as they were taken many years ago no doubt. definitely in need of a serious make over as well as the terms on booking.
