Coach Francesco is proficient in English and super energetic with his Spanish drills. The tennis court is well maintained (Astro turf in clay colour) and higher up on a hill with pleasant views and nice breeze. The ice towels and water is a refreshing touch
Very nice property that attempts to elevate every area (meaning that they try very hard to justify a uniquely expensive stay). It is a remote location so you are not walking into a town. Which can be a positive or negative depending on your perspective.
It is nice to be at a beautiful infinity pool looking at Tuscan hills with few other guests with you. But is it the experience that i am looking for when in Italy paying this much money? Lots of of youngish guests that were staying for a night or two - likely so that they can say that they stayed at this top property.
It is of course a beautiful place and I would never suggest that it is a property that I would refuse to experience. Would I go back for these prices - no, I would not. But if money is no object and value is not a driver, this is a beautiful spot and worth a couple of nights en route to Florence. And if money is really no object, stay in a house for a week and relax in Tuscany.
Pros:
Pools - 2 large nice outdoor pool areas (1 adult, 1 family) with great views of rolling hills
Food - great quality casual dinner restaurant but should have more daily specials for people staying longer that don't eat a lot of the seafood/meat options
Service - attentive bell/front desk/customer service staff and pool/wait staff and housekeeping staff, concierges/front desk answered whatsapp messages promptly and helped with planning or if needed something sent to room
Breakfast - huge amazing breakfast buffet and chef custom-made pancakes and waffles with toppings inside less dense
Cons:
Gravel Roads/Trails - unpaved gravel roads/trails for 15min or so to/from property and within property to get around, **have to be very careful driving since roads not level and not enough space for 2 cars so can easily get rocks in wheel/tire and leak air unless you drive right in the middle slowly
Understaffed - many times pool had only 1 person serving for everything towel/chair service and taking orders, didn't turn-over chairs after people left, never came to chairs for drinks had to go up and order, pool chefs overwhelmed took 45min for basic salad and nobody there
AC functioning issues - rooms not well-ventilated so wouldn't cool below 70 without fan on high which is loud so didn't sleep well
Limited Carts - only had couple carts for entire property and not enough bell/valet staff/carts to take you around if you are older/not able to walk far and room is far its a problem or to get too/from adult pool
Grounds under-maintained - deer poop along trails, hedges/weeds not trimmed in front of pool blocked view
Spacious rooms, impeccable, beautiful and clean , The attention to details, the commucation and the service are next level!
The property is magnificent. Never been anywhere like it. The food the service the rooms. All perfect. Took a cooking class with ERASMO that was a highlight!!
Amazing setting and property with exceptional staff.
Nothing.
The hotel is excellent, the location is a bit remote but it takes a while to understand and really experience the quietness of Tuscany. The breakfast and the food in general is superb. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the reaction time when you want something is so quick which creates a very strong sense of luxury. The only thing is that spa is very small so you have to book in advance. And also you would need a car to go nearby places if you are staying for a long time.
Just magical. The long, winding track leading to Castiglion Del Bosco brings you into it’s dream world, a bubble where every detail is so splendidly perfect it’s hard to imagine anything better.
After a long day of travelling with our 2 year old we relaxed immediately when we were warmly welcomed to the hotel and realised we had arrived somewhere extraordinarily special. We were lucky enough to meet Babbo Natale in his beautiful Christmas house on the way to our room which made our little man very happy and set the tone for the rest of our enchanting stay.
The setting is spectacular, nestled amongst serene forests filled with wildlife. Spotting Santa’s reindeer one misty morning added to the Christmas magic.
This is a very family friendly hotel and so much thought has been put into creating wonderful experiences for families - from the entertainment and activities put on to bring families together, the provisions in the rooms (toys, balloons, sweets, toiletries etc) and the restaurant staff who perfectly anticipated our needs (eg having the highchair ready at our favourite table when we arrived for dinner and immediately preparing his pasta). It's rare to find a place where you can be surrounded by such luxury and feel comfortable for your 2 year old to run around behaving like a 2 year old! He was even welcomed to come along for our wine tasting where he was provided with colouring and a selection of juices to taste.
Every member of staff we met was helpful, warm, sincere and treated us like family. Rooms, food and facilities were all outstanding. Noteworthy was the outdoor swimming pool which had been covered by an impressive marquee structure which made the pool completely usable (and very warm) during the winter months.
We absolutely loved our stay and I can't wait to return. My only complaint is that we had professional photos taken with Santa but the hotel seems to have lost them. I am quite upset that we never got to see them as my son loved meeting Santa and posed beautifully for the photos.
Perfect. Our room was spacious and felt luxurious. Breakfast was amazing- I loved the omelette with truffles. Lunch and dinner were also amazing. We did not do the fine dining restaurant though. Service was impeccable. We also loved the pizza making class and massages at the spa. You must do the private wine tasting which was included in our stay.
You can say you’re in paradise. Can we give a 6 star?
The property is amazing, staff is welcoming and always there to make it happen and not say no to your needs. They really go beyond expectations. We’re celebrating 25Th anniversary and after we had dinner at their 2 star Michelin our bathtub was filled, warm and ready to go. Decorated with candles, flowers etc
Everything is so beautiful that you want to be there forever as it’s such a welcoming place. 2 modern pools, 2 restaurants, a winery and we also played tennis.
Want to go back soon. We love you Rosewood CDBosco team.
I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience at Castiglion del Bosco to prevent other guests from facing a similar ordeal.
My stay was severely marred by multiple, significant service failures, including a complete breakdown with the pre-arranged photographer, issues with a drone service, and a problematic payment process. These were not minor inconveniences; they fundamentally ruined the holistic vacation experience we had paid a premium for.
Worse than the initial failures, however, has been the hotel's response to our formal complaint. Despite a cordial call, their final resolution was a conditional, partial gesture that ignored the core issues. They have now categorically refused a refund and, when confronted with a separate health-related concern from their Spa, have shifted all responsibility by demanding that we, the client, file a claim with their insurance provider.
This is not how a luxury brand that claims to value its guests should operate. True luxury is reflected not just in the amenities but in accountability and customer care when things go wrong. Castiglion del Bosco has demonstrated a complete lack of both.
Instead of taking ownership, they have chosen a path that forces the guest into a protracted and burdensome legal dispute. I am now left with no choice but to pursue my consumer rights through official channels.
Proceed with extreme caution. The beauty of the property is undeniable, but the risk is substantial. When problems arise, you will be on your own.
Recommendation: Not Recommended.
Some places are so extraordinary they feel almost unreal. Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is one of them. Perched high on a Tuscan hill, it is an old village brought back to life, every stone and path restored with reverence and style.
The setting is nothing short of breathtaking. Rolling vineyards, cypress trees and golden light stretch to the horizon. The views alone are worth the trip, but the hotel itself is even more impressive.
The rooms are vast and elegant, the kind you could happily live in forever. Every detail feels handpicked, blending old-world character with modern comfort. The staff are exceptional, discreet yet warm, and they make the whole experience feel effortless.
The food is as memorable as the views. From intimate dinners to the brilliant Street Festival buffet-style evening, every meal is an event and every bite a reminder of how good life can be. Service throughout is flawless, attentive without ever feeling fussy.
Verdict: total perfection. Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is one of the best places I have ever stayed. It is not just a hotel, it is an experience, and one I would return to in a heartbeat.
The most beautiful location in the world, designed by Ferragamo to perfection!
There is nothing not to like.
A World-Class Masterpiece: Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, Tuscany
From the moment my husband and I arrived at the Rosewood in Tuscany, it was clear we were experiencing something truly extraordinary — not just a resort, but one of the finest hotels in the world.
Every element is perfection: the warm, professional, and impeccably attentive staff make you feel like the most important guest on property. Our ultra-luxurious villa stay was beyond anything we’ve ever experienced — spacious, exquisitely designed, and effortlessly elegant, topping even the most exclusive five-star resorts globally.
The spa deserves special praise — I had the best facial of my life, a one-hour treatment using Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella products, complete with a facial massage that left my skin glowing and my entire body rejuvenated. Absolute heaven.
The concierge team also made the impossible possible by arranging for us at the last minute to attend the Palio di Siena on our second night — a once-in-a-lifetime experience we will never forget. Thanks to them, we saw one of Italy’s most historic and thrilling events up close.
The food is exceptional, the wines from the estate vineyard divine, and each meal felt like a celebration of Tuscan culinary artistry. Whether relaxing poolside, exploring the grounds, or sipping a Brunello with a sunset view, every single detail is flawless.
A stay here isn’t just a vacation — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that sets an entirely new benchmark for luxury hospitality worldwide.
Tudo excelente.
Os restaurantes poderiam ser um pouco mais bonitos. Café da manhã poderia ser melhor
Beautiful property and great service. Was a little disappointed they charge double the price for wine they make in their back yard then I pay here in Montreal.
Went to check out this venue for my wedding. Granted I was there because my fiancé and I were looking at a full buyout of the property, it is over 1mil for a full buyout for 3 days.
However the experience was terrible, first off they made us rent a villa for 17k for two nights for the two of us, we were supposed to be able to see the grounds and different villas, but they wouldn’t let us see inside of them due to “the fact they were being cleaned” I expressed I didn’t care and we would like to see this as it’s important and they wouldn’t let us. The Michelin restaurant on site was not that great, the other restaurant was better. We did not get to experience one aspect of the hotel because we were with the staff viewing the property, and then when we asked for a late checkout (their checkout is at 10am lol) they would not allow it, so this is why we decided not to go with this venue or ever come back here for vacation.
Also when they tell you the property is 5000 acres, what they mean to say is their vineyard is 4995 acres and they have 5 acres of actual usable property by the resort.
