Somewhat disappointing stay.
Pros:

Pleasant staff. Onsite parking.

Cons:

Usually a fan of Leonardo hotels but this one is in need of some upgrading. The bathroom door in our room would not shut. Despite an assurance from the reception staff, this was never resolved. Also faulty lamp fittings, dated decor etc. Website says all day dining - needed an early lunch one day but was informed that the kitchen did not open until 12:30.
All not terrible, just not up to standard.

Hotel posizionato molto bene sia per raggiungere il centro storico (10 minuti a piedi) sia per l'aeroporto (la fermata del tram e del bus è a 5 minuti a piedi), pulito e con staff molto disponibile. Hanno tenuto il bagaglio sia prima del check in che dopo il check out. Colazione classica da albergo.

Cons:

Eccessivamente caro, vale la metà di quel che costa.

Efficient check-in with friendly reception. Parking (paid) is easily accessed at the back.
Pros:

Very efficient check-in process, allocated 2 rooms swiftly by the courteous receptionist. The hotel is within a few minutes of Haymarket station, plus a few bars and 20 mins gentle walk will take you to the hub of Edinburgh. Car parking is at the rear and costs GBP10 per day - good value for Edinburgh. Breakfast is the usual buffet - with good selection.

Solides Stadthotel, aber es geht besser
Pros:

Das Leonardo Hotel ist ein solides Stadthotel, welches seine besten Zeiten jedoch schon hinter sich hat. Das Zimmer ist ausreichend groß und gut ausgestattet. Jedoch wäre eine Renovierung der Zimmer und Flure durchaus eine sinnvolle Investition - es wirkt schon etwas abgewohnt. Der tägliche Zimmerservice war ein reines Glücksspiel bei 4 Übernachtungen hat es 1x funktioniert, dass unser Zimmer gereinigt und wiederhergerichtet wurde.
Das Frühstück war ok - nicht mehr und nicht wenig. Klassisches britisches Frühstück, eine kleine Müsliauswahl, Kaffeespezialitätenmaschinen (die nicht immer dem Ansturm gewachsen waren), ein wenig Aufschnitt und Brot. Das frisch geschnittene Obst (meist Melone und Orange) wurde so sparsam aufgelegt, dass die Platte / Schale meist sofort wieder leer war, sobald der Mitarbeiter sie abgestellt hatte. Auch die Tische wurden nur nach und nach mal abgeräumt, wenn ein Gast gegangen war und das obwohl eigentlich immer viel Personal im Frühstücksraum rumwuselte. Die extra zu bestellenden Gerichte (z.B. Porridge) wurden schnell gebracht und waren auch sehr lecker!

Das Personal am Empfang / Rezeption war mal so mal so. Beim Check-In professionell, aber eher reserviert und froh, dass wir schnell und problem los eingecheckt haben. Beim Check-Out ein super freundlicher und scherzender Mitarbeiter, mit dem man auch leicht ins Gespräch kam -- so herzlich und gastfreundlich, wie wir es zuvor auf dieser Reise in diversen B&B und Hotels durchweg erlebt hatten.

Cons:

Es war nichts wirklich schlecht, jedoch erwarte ich von einem 4-Sterne-Hotel in der Hauptstadt eines Landes und zu diesem Preis ein deutlich besseres Auftreten. Für rund 300€ weniger (ebenfalls 4 xÜF) haben wir 14 Tage zuvor gerade zu luxuriös im Radisson Blu Hotel Glasgow (4 Sterne) gewohnt. Vielleicht einfach mal ein wenig von der Konkurrenz abschauen ;-)

Pros:

Nice hotel great location for getting around a short walk from Haymarket Station.
Room was lovely ( Thank you Max ) for sorting it out top man.
Breakfast stranded sausages were a bit on the cold side and eggs stuck to each other.
I will be back as it’s close to the office.
