Professional property host/manager
Pro: The woman managing the executive lounge is excellent. Fabulous experience!
Con: weirdest experience. We were at the exact same hotel a week ago, so, we get our room today, turn on tv to watch tv via YouTube (husband loves PTI) and apps are locked because someone logged in with their ID (can see their app photo, gmail partial etc). Long story short tech person unable to unlock. Here is the good stuff, it’s escalated to management and Sr tech support. Over speaker phone (my husband, tech, weekend manager and I in room; Sr tech and escalation manager on phone) escalation manger tells us that Hilton Hotel chain has locked their TV’s world wide to prevent YouTube and Netflix usage in all Hilton Hotels. It’s something Hilton has newly implemented. What the what the?!? Sr tech support says they put in their info/gmail to lock tv. We tell management we were here last week and no issues. They say it’s likely that tv from a week ago hadn’t been locked (just wow!)
Resolution, night manager asks my husband to show her using another room tv how he had previously accessed apps and he does, again no issues, YouTube works. We are moved to a room where tv apps work, weekend manager says there will be a meeting regarding this event.
Conclusion: management literally lied and lied about Hilton brand. This is s*it you can’t make up. Crazy.
Stars given only because of the lady in the executive lounge.
While I do agree with some of the reviews here that the Hilton Windhoek would do well with a renovation, I also have to say that the staff was the friendliest I had at a Hilton stay in the past years.
I stayed at the hotel for one night only using my Hilton points. I am a Lifetime Diamond Member and that might have helped in getting an upgrade to 85 sqm Diplomatic Suite despite the fact that I was paying with points. And and top to that the staff did everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I had an overnight flight and arrived at the hotel at 9 am. As my upgraded room wasn't ready yet, I was provisionally booked into a standard room to have a chance to freshen up, before I could move to my designated suite at 12 noon.
I have never experienced anything like it. Usually, when you pay with points, you do not get an upgrade on top of that. And when you ask for an early check in and your room category isn't yet available, I was never treated to a preliminary check-in like on this trip.
Absolutely fantastic and I cannot thank the staff enough. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day in Windhoek so the rooftop area couldn't really been used, but I enjoyed the also very nice Executive Lounge on the same floor. The location of the hotel is also perfect to explore the city. Everything interesting is in walking distance.
The staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful, absolutely nothing bad to say about them.
The hotel itself, however, is in dire need of renovation.
Room 100's furniture was, in many places, broken, split, aging and/or faded. The shower head was ill-fitting and the temperature dial kept turning, under its own weight, from warm to scalding. The hotel's outside lights pierce the curtains and a light constantly comes through the bathroom's frosted glass window meaning it's never dark in the room. The aircon seems to have borrowed it's motor from a jet engine, meaning I had to turn it off at night in order to sleep.
The breakfast buffet leaves a lot to be desired for in terms of quality and variety, surprising, as the lunch/dinner and room service selection was actually decent.
I have booked with another hotel for my return to Windhoek.
Rooms and stuff are amazing Caroline assisted me with check inns and check outs she was very friendly did my laundry was done perfectly
Its a lovely hotel with a relaxing environment.
Front desk ladies always greet with a smile and friendly attitude.
The gentlemen at the front desk also are great.
Had a great experience at Hilton Windhoek. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff provided excellent service and were very professional and friendly. The location is perfect, making it easy to get around the city. I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel
Hilton Windhoek is an absolute win for families. From the moment we walked in the staff made our kids fell like VIPs, big smiles, extra patience and genuine warmth greetings from the staff. The rooms were insanely comfortable. Breakfast and dinners were a highlight. And the location made it easy to explore the city. We'd 100 come back.
Hilton Windhoek understood the assignment. From the second I walked in, the staff treated me like a VIP who just closed a major deal. Great warm smiles, lightning fast service and attention to details I didn’t know I cared about. The rooms were immaculate. The view ? Unreal and very scenic. This place doesn’t just host but looks after you !
This was a memorable stay from tour to finish. The hotel is modern, elegant and extremely well run. Staff were proactive, detail oriented and friendly. The room was prepared each day and the comfort level excellent. Highly recommend
Hilton Windhoek I, excellent and great place to stay. The customers services realy stood out and maddbtge stay smooth. Reception is staff were very welcoming , friendly and willing to to help especially Justina and Caroline.
Attended a meetings in the halls ans the service and food was to standard really good for events
Hilton windhoek enjoyed the food at the Restaurant and got to experience a beautiful sun set at sky bar with sundowners
We had dinner at Ekipa, the Hilton’s in‑house restaurant, and it was a really enjoyable evening. I went for the salmon while my wife ordered the sirloin steak honestly one of the best steaks we’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I was hoping to try the sushi, but it looks like the sushi wine bar is closed for now.
During the meal, we chatted with a gentleman who knew a lot about Namibia and even gave us a quick history lesson at the table. I didn’t catch his name, but he seemed like he might have been the manager. It was a nice personal touch that made the evening feel special.
On the downside, the bathroom had a very strong smell, which was off‑putting. If I had gone in before eating, I’m not sure I would’ve stayed for dinner. The hotel itself is nice, but it feels a bit dated almost like stepping back into 2005.
I returned to this property after my first stay in 2023, hoping to see some improvements, but unfortunately not much has changed. The breakfast options remain very limited compared to the Hiltons I’ve experienced worldwide. While I never expect lavish spreads, the variety here feels underwhelming, especially when guests around us were openly disappointed. We are easygoing travelers, so we didn’t come with high expectations, but it still doesn’t feel like the Hilton standard.
The rooms show visible signs of ageing, and it’s clear that some refurbishment is overdue. It’s not unpleasant, but the wear and tear is noticeable and detracts from the overall experience.
On the positive side, the team was genuinely kind and welcoming. The lady who served us at breakfast deserves special mention—she was running from table to table, clearly stretched thin, yet still took the time to engage with us and even asked about our trip. Coffee service was slow, but I commend her effort and energy. Management really needs to address staffing and service flow, as she was doing her best under pressure.
Overall, a great location with wonderful staff, but the property and breakfast offering need urgent attention.
My stay at Hilton windhoek was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotels central location makes it convenient and the staff were friendly and professional throughout my stay.
The room was well equipped and maintained with a comfortable bed, work desk and reliable wifi creating a relc and quiet workable space
Food and drinks were satisfying with a fresh and varied breakfast selection, well prepared meals at the restaurant and the rooftop bar was a standout
My stay at the hotel was quite memorable. I came in for a work conference and, the assistance that I received was top notch. The front office team was very friendly, especially Delano. He was such a delight and very helpful. I went up to the sky bar and the view was breathtaking. Gave me a view of the city if not the entire city.
Had a great evening at the Hilton 🍸✨ Went there just for a few drinks with friends, not to stay overnight. The lounge was classy and comfortable 🛋️, with a relaxing vibe and excellent service 👏. The bartenders were friendly and mixed some amazing cocktails 🍹. Music was just right — lively but not too loud 🎶. The atmosphere made it a perfect spot to unwind and chat with friends 😄. Even though I didn’t stay the night, the overall experience was fantastic 🌟. Would definitely come back for another evening out! 🍾💫
Very comfortable room and bathroom, a lovely pool deck on 9th floor with a pub and views over Windhoek, BUT....
The service however is not what I have learnt from Hilton Hotels. Upon arrival we and many others had to wait for rooms as housekeeping had apparently not completed their cleaning. At least 20 of us were dotted around reception waiting, long after the 15:00 booking in time. We eventually received our room after 16:00! When one is travelling many hours to reach the hotel this is the worst that can happen to a traveller.
The following day it took until 15:30 for us to get our room serviced. Soon after 09:00 we placed the "please service" card on the door. Returning at 12:00 it had still not been cleaned. At 13:00 we left for lunch and requested reception to arrange the cleaning. He phoned whilst we were at the desk. At 15:00, upon our return, it had still not been done and needed me to phone housekeeping to get it done. The supervisor then came to check the room was done and had many excuses about how busy she and the cleaners was. That sounded very much like a management problem and nothing to do with me, a paying guest! Extremely disappointed and will not return or recommend to others.
The hotel was very nice and the staff are very accommodating. The area around the hotel if you are walking feels quite unsafe with panhandlers and beggars everywhere
Rooms are great. Easy to get a good nights sleep. Reception were fairly efficient, but because of limited space, there were often a lot of people waiting.
Some negatives however.
You can park for free in the underground car park, but when the main one is full, you have to use the adjacent one. To exit, you have to queue at reception, get a voucher and RUN to you car as you ony get 5 minutes to get out. If you have a group or anbody who can't walk that fast, you wont make the 5 minutes. Then you will be stuck at the exit barrier as the person there wont be able to use the voucher. So you have to run upstairs, queue at reception and get another voucher and run back down into the garage. CRAZY !
Get to breakfast early, as later on a lot of trays are just empty and nobody refills them. Also getting a coffee can be a challenge as you have to track the lady down who has the coffee and be added to her list of people who need cofee. Why can't they just have a coffee machine?
Service at the bar (not the SkyBar) was so slow. Our group waited and waited and waited for somebody to come. When I went in, I could see the problem. The waiter was just serving anybody and everybody who came to the bar.
