Exceptional from start to finish!
Pros:

The staff was exceptional! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a big smile, a welcome drink of choice, a fabulous recommendation for dinner. Then we opened the door to a beautiful room with a large bathroom with outstanding amenities, very comfortable bed and a great night sleep! Next morning, once again we were greeted with a big smile and a delicious breakfast. This “Ohtel” really knows how to spoil their quest!!!

Super warm welcome on a wet windy afternoon
Pros:

Slightly unprepossessing from outside, its a very cubist concrete look (not my favourite but our city guide knew the architect and loved it....each to their own) but the room was great, almost sumptuous.
Room was not ready when we arrived at about 3.30pm, but our greeting was so warm and friendly.
Immediately gave us a free breakfast for the inconvenience. Not really necessary but it was a really excellent breakfast which we may not have had otherwise. Its close to the city for evening outings and on the waterfront,( though opposite the park on the map was a disappointing view of car charging points and some hard landscaping....it is a park just not what I expected). 50m to the waterfront and 300m to the beach. Weather was wet, windy and cold for us, but the hotel was warm and friendly

Cons:

The architecture but just not to my taste!!
The room servicing seemed a little slow....ours was done at c 5pm.....maybe a staff problem, but it did not affect our enjoyment.

A very nice boutique hotel with a great team
Pros:

Ohtel is a very nice, stylish and small boutique hotel. The location is great as you can walk easily to the center along the waterfront. The team is really great, super friendly and supportive. A big shoutout to Paco, he was just amazing to us.

Large modern room
Pros:

A little on the edge of town but 8 minutes walk to Te Papa Tongarewa museum

Cons:

The large bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a glass wall and sliding door with a curtain, so somewhat lacking in privacy.

Pros:

I had to book this hotel at short notice after my connecting flight out of Wellington was cancelled. I was stressed, tired and jetlagged on arrival, but the staff were fantastic and immediately made me feel more relaxed.

They also allowed me to check in early and it was a huge boost to find such a beautiful, comforting room waiting for me.

The staff arranged a take-out breakfast due to my early departure the next morning. They couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, and my room massively exceeded my expectations - it's one of the most delightful rooms I've stayed in.

Pros:

Das kleine Hotel liegt sehr zentral und uns wurde gleich ein Parkplatz vermittelt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Frühstück in der kleinen Lobby war sehr gut.

Cons:

Wir hatten ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss ohne Fenster und Tageslicht. Die Belüftung erfolgte nur über die Klimaanlage, die uns in fast allen Unterkünften einstellungstechnische Probleme bereitete. Das offene Bad fanden wir auch nicht optimal, zumal man alles hören konnte.
