Restaurant staff and food excellent. Public areas nice and fresh and modern but in keeping with the property. Room was extremely disappointing - bathroom needs gutting as dirty grout in floor and wall tiles and sealant needs replacing and shower curtain. Radiator needed cleaning/replacing. Window frame in bedroom rotting and catches all loose. Bedroom furniture dated and worn and needs a new mattress. Also be warned they are very thin walls!! The views are spectacular and grounds well maintained. The room was nothing like the picture and as a country wedding venue I would have expected a lot more. We also booked it months in advance. Assume we had a room next on the list for refurb! Reception staff unusually didn’t ask us how our stay was!
Lovely location evening meal was nice staff friendly bed lovely and comfortable only down side is can hear guest in his bathroom next door and creaking floorboards
The hotel was brilliant the staff were friendly and helpful, room was great and spacious
The reception staff went over and above to be helpful. The rooms were excellent and it's the best night's sleep I've ever had. Breakfast was amazing too, with all tastes catered for. But the welcome we received from the lovely receptionist made it for me, a credir to the hotel.
Upon checkout, the gentleman at the reception greeted us with a smug look and an unhelpful attitude when we asked if we could check out, as no one had been at the desk initially. However, the lady at reception the night before was very helpful, friendly and gave us a very warm welcome.
Cleanliness: The sofa in the room was extremely dirty, with the armrests almost black from accumulated dirt.
Additionally, there was no mini fridge in the room and no slippers provided, which was disappointing.
Overall the hotel was nice.
Remote large hotel with fabulous pub, restaurant, and wedding venue. Excellent service
Would happily recommend this hotel..Friendly and helpful staff. Very quiet...will definitely return...
Following a positive experience in a premium room, we decided to rebook when attending a funeral. Unfortunately room availability was low and we had to use a basic room. Having been delayed by M5 traffic, we arrived late otherwise we would have complained and looked for an alternative place to stay. The room smelt damp (room 3), cobwebs hung from the ceiling, threadbare carpet, heavily stained chair, leaking toilet, shower which was either scalding or freezing, a shower screen which reached chest height on me, quite literally a hole in the floorboards in the middle of the room and a very poorly cooked breakfast (which was the same problem previously when we stayed). All in all a VERY overpriced room for what it offered and we have chosen to avoid this hotel in the future.
This stay was disappointing after our previous experience. The family room in the stable was in need of an update, very tyred room, and bunk bed only suitable for small kids. Not even 2 chairs for a room where 4 sleep. This time no menu for breakfast was offered almost reluctant handed when I asked
First room (premium) I was given was filthy and extremely worn out. Threadbare carpet, saggy bed and big crack along the bath. I asked to be moved and the room in the main part of the hotel I was given was much better (superior). The food was only just about average and basic. Most looked like it was from the freezer into the fryer. The location and exterior of the hotel are very nice and used for weddings, One was taking place while I was there. Unfortunately I will not use again as I think there are better hotels locally.
The location is idylic whilst not being too far away from good road links. The food was fantastic although the fish was on the small side. The woman on reception was a bit testy but everyone else was very polite and helpful.
The standard room needed a bit of love and updating but everywhere else looked recently updated. Overall it was a good stay with just a few updates required to make it a better rating.
The hotel is set in a beautiful location. The staff were all very helpful. The room was bright & airy with views over the garden. The room & bathroom were spotless and the bed very comfortable.
The only negative of our stay was the shower. The water pressure was very low and the hot water took a while to filter through.
All staff very friendly and obliging
Good comfortable stay. Large rooms and quiet location.
Just perfect
Rooms clean and tea/coffee facilities available. Food first class, 3 star hotel, i would give it 5. Been several times, never been disappointed. All the staff make you feel welcome. One of my favourite hotels.
Have been billed 3 times for this stay, once through hotels.com (as expected) twice by the hotel, despite confirming the room was pre-paid on check in.
Despite significant engagement with the property, sending credit card and bank statements, two weeks later the issue remains unresolved.
Communication from the hotel has been non-existant, agreed call backs from the relevant department are never made. Front of house staff and management appear unable or unwilling to resolve, no recognition of the inconvenience this has caused.
Beautiful location and buildings. Coach house entrance wasn’t overly clean , and carpet in room had hole in floor
Otherwise very nice
Excellent stay in a very nice hotel in quiet country surrounds. Staff were outstanding from reception into the bar and the dining room. Llechwen Hall is now my 'go to' hotel for my frequent business trips to South Wales
Beautiful grounds and views, excellent food and friendly staff. I would book this hotel again.
