Ontbijt was niet goedkoop maar zeer lekker en zeer goede bediening aan tafel vooral door Danny of (Denny).
Airco op de slaapkamer was luidruchtig.
The service was great. They recommended how is the safest way to use taxis' services the location is perfect. Breakfast was personal and excellent. We did not have time to visit the pool
Beautiful hotel, spacious and well-designed suites, and a lovely quiet setting. Daniel Kish and his colleague at breakfast were excellent — warm, attentive and they remembered everything. The pastries were very good.
We checked out on a Sunday morning with four suitcases for the airport, and nobody mentioned that the roads around the hotel were closed for a major event. Our car couldn't reach us and we walked a long way with our luggage.
The breakfast arrangement was also confusing — we were told twice that it works like a normal restaurant, and only later learned that the 100 LEI option advertised online is the cheapest single item on the menu.
The indoor pool was also too cold to enjoy, which is a shame given the spa.
8 from 10
Beautiful quiet hotel, spacious suite with separate lounge area, large bathroom with walk in shower and separate bath. Hotel is very well maintained and spotless. Spa is really lovely and relaxing. All members of staff very professional, friendly and helpful from the front of house to the cleaning/maintenance staff. Breakfast was very good and the service second to none. This is a truly excellent hotel. We started our holiday in a different "5 star" hotel booked by our travel agent but it was so bad we changed hotels and so glad we did! There is no comparison, this hotel is in a different league.
The hotel is in a good location very near to a nice park (the oldest in the city I was told) and convenient for the old town and other sights. However, the street it is on is a little scruffy with a lot of graffiti on the buildings. But it felt safe to walk around at night.
It’s a quiet central location. Rooms are nice and some are freshly refurbished.
They need to change the towels and the sheets. They are unacceptably worn out for a 5 stars hotel.
Also, their stuff need profesional hospitality training. Too much of a Balkans behavior. Friendly but condescending. I stayed 4 or 5 times here, unfortunately they changed for the worse. Not again.
We had the most wonderful stay at Epoque Hotel. The staff were genuinely hospitable and welcoming. Special shout out to our server, the wonderful Bogdan at L'Atelier, and the fabulous chefs who went the extra mile to make our dining experience(s) truly memorable. We have a baby <12 months so dining out can feel like a mission sometimes. The chefs readily made modifications to the menu to meet the dietary requirements.
Epoque is an oasis amidst the general decay of the crumbling splendour and constant hideous graffiti of Bucharest. Comfortable with an excellent restaurant, it was a good base to explore from. Our room and room service were good. A bit tired and less glamorous than other hotels we had been staying in, we would recommend it for travellers wanting better than a Hilton and out of the old town. The taxi drivers (as in other cities) were even worse so Uber or Bolt are essential but the Uber app is not good.
Nothing directly relating to the hotel, but the locals just don't care that their city is falling into disrepair. Graffiti, lack of maintenance, weeds where there should be lawns, all just a bit sad. The after effects of communism showing everywhere.
The restaurant offers excellent Romanian food.
Location. Staff. Facilities. Staff. The bar. Staff.
Everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
