Pros:

Excellent location, can not be beaten in Shanghai.
Very nice hotel, we had the suite which was on the top floor with great city views.
All in all, a great choice for tourists with children, close to everything.

Cons:

Although hotel is very big, there is limited space for staying at the reception. For instance, after 12am, there is no place where you can sit, as the cafe and hotel bar close, and there is no place where to lounge. It also becomes very very cold in the reception area, probably not to encourage staying there late.
It has a very very cold feel at night, not a cosy and warm hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with the Marriott and would 100% stay there again.
Pros:

Beautiful hotel, nice sized room, in the city centre and helpful and friendly staff.

Cons:

The only improvement would be better pillows and a duvet.
