Pros:

Nous avons passé un autre séjour de rêve à May de Ville. L’hôtel est excellemment situé, près du lac et près de la vieille ville.
Le personnel est adorable et efficace , le petit déjeuner délicieux.
Nous y étions il y a deux ans et y reviendrons une troisième fois avec plaisir !

Pros:

Excellent stay! The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. The breakfast offered a huge variety of high-quality options, with something for everyone. Our room wasn’t very large, but it was beautifully designed, spotless, and very comfortable. The location is perfect, right in the heart of everything. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at May De Ville Hotel in Hanoi was very disappointing.

I specifically chose this hotel because one of the advertised benefits was early check-in. Despite arriving as planned, we were told to wait until the regular check-in time unless we paid an additional fee. What made this even more frustrating was watching other guests receive their rooms before us. If early check-in is advertised as a benefit, it should be honored when possible—not turned into an opportunity to charge extra.

The room itself was another major disappointment. It had no windows, making it feel dark, cramped, and far from what you would expect from a hotel claiming to be five stars. The shower was extremely small and uncomfortable to use, and noise from outside and neighboring rooms made it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep.

Overall, this hotel does not meet the standards of a true 5-star property. Between the misleading early check-in promise, the attempt to charge extra, windowless rooms, poor sound insulation, and undersized bathroom, I cannot recommend staying here. There are many better options in Hanoi that offer much better value and a more honest guest experience.

In general value for money.
Pros:

Location is best.

Cons:

Inside window rooms are suffocating. Staff is not giving authentic answers. E.g I left my passports in locker and changed the room, when I asked reception about passports they said they have checked the locker and there is no passport.
Later after 15 minutes when I took up the issue strongly so they found it in locker and returned to my room.
