Exceptional!
Loved everything
My husband and I stayed at The Gotham Hotel from July 10-13 for a quick NYC trip, and it was a 5/5 experience all around.
We booked the Midtown King Balcony Suite, and it did not disappoint. The private balcony in our room was such a treat, and the bathroom had a nice waterfall faucet. The king bed was comfortable, and having a fridge and mini-bar in the room was so convenient. We even received a $30 mini-bar credit, which was a nice touch.
In addition to our own private balcony, the hotel also offers public balconies on floors 19-23 with stunning views. We could see Times Square in the distance from the 46th Street side, which made for a great way to take in the city. I also noticed the public balconies had designated smoking areas with ashtrays available, a nice touch for guests who smoke.
We had brunch on Sunday at The Reading Room, the hotel's restaurant, and it was excellent.
What really made this stay memorable was the staff. Noel and D'Angelo, the doormen, were fantastic. Personable, friendly, helpful, and down to earth. Every single staff member we encountered matched that same energy.
A special shoutout to Ilda at the front desk. She and her colleagues were wonderful, but Ilda in particular went above and beyond. We had a great conversation during my day out on Sunday, and her customer service was exquisite. She later followed up by email offering an additional discount and even offered to help me plan and book a return visit, remembering our conversation from that day. That kind of personal touch is rare and truly appreciated.
We were also given the option of a cash reward or credit toward our next stay, which was a nice bonus.
We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend The Gotham Hotel to anyone visiting NYC.
I like how attentive and helpful the staff were
I could not access the guide on the tv and there was no hair dryer in the room either!
It was clean
Our balcony was in an alleyway and the view was terrible
Neat and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location.
Location, balcony, size of room was big
Housekeeping....on Tuesday July 7 Housekeeping came into my room twice. Both times she opened the door and said Housekeeping while knocking. So inappropriate. I was in a towel the first and napping the second time. Knock first, say Housekeeping and wait for a response. Don't ever just walk into my room
I like having a door man, having the elevator access only by key card and I love the cleanliness .
I don’t like that the balcony was kind of small
The location was good and the hotel looked modern and nice.
The bed mattress and frame were bad quality. Every time I moved I would hear the frame hit the night stand or something. Then the bed mattress was very uncomfortable and I could feel the springs of the mattress when I got on the bed. Also, the pillow were too soft and didn't provide any neck support.
