Alam Ubud Culture Villas & Residences

We had a wonderful stay at Alam Ubud Villa. It’s a beautiful, quiet and relaxing jungle retreat. The villas are set above the river, and falling asleep to the sound of flowing water and the jungle is incredibly peaceful. The setting is stunning and perfect for unwinding.

Just be aware there are quite a lot of steps, which is worth considering, but overall it’s a fantastic place to stay if you’re looking for tranquillity and nature.

The hotel is based in beautiful jungle where you can find all the colors, nature, animals and private waterfall pool I enjoyed 💚 I stayed in Villa Lodgi and the feeling to be in jungle was incredible.

We stayed in the Astina 2 villa at Alum Ubud Culture Residences and Villas and loved every minute.

The food was outstanding and a real highlight of our stay, easily some of the best we’ve had while travelling. They cater fully for vegetarians, and every dish felt special and memorable. The price is exceptional for the quality and setting.

The location is stunning. Set amongst forest at the top of a valley, it’s wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Yet it’s only a short drive from Ubud centre, making it easy to explore or join tours.

What really stood out was the team. Everyone we met was warm, friendly and genuinely kind. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

If you want to relax and step away from the bustle of everyday life while staying close enough to dip into Ubud when you wish, this place is ideal. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

This place is UNREAL! We stayed in a private villa with a private infinity pool overlooking the stunning forest and it was so private and secluded. A perfect spot to relax in the afternoon heat listening to the sounds of the river and the animals in the trees. The villa is HUGE! A large open room with the bed and multiple seating areas, an oversized bathroom with shower and bath (YES the window has a blind so you can use the toilet in private), a large balcony overlooking the private pool. Outside there is a large upper terrace (also over looking the private pool) with a seating and dining area and then private pool which is much bigger than it appears in photos with multiple seating and lounging options!

The staff here are so attentive and welcoming. From the moment we checked in they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect and it was.

I also need to mention the food as I didn’t really see this advertised much but it was a welcomed surprise! We were planning on visiting Ubud centre to eat out there but the food here was so good we had dinner here every night, poolside overlooking the forest! As vegetarians it was so nice to see such a varied menu and everything was incredible!

The resort is also huge. There are around 20 villas in total but each secluded so they don’t overlook one an another but all seemingly have breathtaking views over the forest. There are also 2 main pools, one next to the restaurant (featured in most of the photos) and a smaller one right at the bottom close to the river where there is also a spa!

This place is remote. So anyone wanting to be in the action of the centre will need to allow for at least 20 minutes by car to get there from here. This is an authentic forest stay experience like no other!

I totally recommend this villa. It was such a nice experience to stay in the jungle.
The food was amazing. We tried almost everything from their menu and we also ate in Ubud centro but the best food was in our villa.
After 4 days we went to Nusa Dua but we still think about our villa from Ubud. We miss it already.
The pool and the view was incredible. I highly recommend this place.
The staff from this villa was the best. They were so kind with everybody. They deserve a raise🥹
I reaslise that I’ve lost my neckace after leaving this place and the staff wrote me that they found it close to our villa. I cannot believe how kind these people are.

Such an incredible place. The staff were extremely accommodating and kind. The room/villa was very spacious and absolutely gorgeous with a balcony view of the river and jungle. The infinity pool was beautiful and the spa facilities were amazing. Would absolutely recommend!

We stayed at Alam Ubud for our honeymoon and we had a wonderful time there. The staff was super friendly and always helpful.
We have booked half board for our stay which includes a great three courses dinner.
Furthermore we had a villa without pool which was the right decision because there hotel pools for sharing and we had a ballon at our villa.
We can really recommend Alam Ubud!

Everything was good in this villa. Rooms, pool and Restaurant were Perfect. All stuff were smiling every morning to us. Thank you for everything.

Alam Ubud was absolutely beautiful and the grounds were stunning. My wife and I had such a sweet time there. All of the staff were extremely helpful and willing to help with anything we asked in terms of travel and tourism. The only thing I would say is that there are no elevators just stairs so if you are out of shape or have a disability be aware that you can only get to places on the grounds by stairs. Also, Alam Ubud is close to Tegalalang rice fields and Tirta Empul and other great Bali attractions but it is a distance from the center of Ubud. You will have to get a taxi to take you to the center which takes up to about 25/35 minutes depending on the traffic. But download either Gojek or Grab and you will be fine.

This is amazing jungle view hotel with nice swimming pool and spectacular view from the room! We enjoyed hot bath and nice people working there

Such a beautiful place right in the rainforest, so peaceful. Lovely to be just outside of Ubud in a quieter area and made good use of their free shuttle service into the centre. Villas are spacious and luxurious, lovely to hear the river flowing to send me to sleep! Would highly recommend!

One of the best hotel in Ubud. Everything was perfect. Room was huge and clean. The infinity pool was fun. Most important staff was very friendly. I wish we had more time here :)

Lovely jungle resort outside of the bustling city of Ubud. Spacious, clean villas with private pools. Very friendly staff. Good food and excellent spa treatments. What's not to like? The floating afternoon tea was fun. The resort offers multiple activities in the local area including guided trips and free shuttle to Ubud twice a day. Free in house yoga classes as well.

The staff is incredibly kind and always ready to help, which made us feel truly welcomed. The location is stunning – nestled in the lush greenery of Ubud, it offers a peaceful atmosphere away from the busy town. The shared infinity pool is beautiful and perfect for relaxing while surrounded by nature.

Getting to the center of Ubud is also very easy if you rent a motorbike – a great way to explore the area!

The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. However, it’s worth mentioning that the whole structure is a bit dated, and in our opinion, the villa with the private pool is not the best option. The private pool didn’t feel as clean or inviting, and overall, the villa with private pool felt less charming than the standard rooms.

That said, we really enjoyed our time here and appreciated the warm hospitality and peaceful setting.

Beautiful property but not a good location. Far from the market and accessible places. Rooms are large but not well maintained. We stayed in the 3-room villa with private pool. While the staff are friendly and helpful the amenities provided are far from satisfactory.
This location is far from cafes and restaurants and food on the property was very expensive though very good.
The bathroom inside the room is completely exposed to whoever is in the room (if two are sharing). Large window inside the room by which a person can see another using the bathroom. While it is probably great for honeymooners, we were travelling with kids and honestly my kid watching me poop isn't exactly what I had in mind so every time I wanted to use the loo I had to ask her to step outside.
The rooms are not interconnected so the day it rained we were cut off from each other.
The management needs to upgrade the facilities. We were charged a bomb for the luxurious villa hence we expected proper toiletries. One room had a large bottle of conditioner and two tiny bottles of body wash and shampoo.
No handwash was provided.
I do regret staying there, honestly. Would have enjoyed my stay if we had chosen a better location.

Very friendly staff that don’t everything in every situation to be more than helpful, very nice villas. The accommodation , pool & restaurant overall was lovely. Great location, easy taxis, 20minutes from ubud city £4 via taxi. Gorgeous views
