Basileus Hotel

The staff was friendly and very helpful. This hotel is a little older, needs a little updating paint and furniture. Could be a little cleaner, and there were four to five insects in my room. Oh and part of my shower door was missing.

Great location in very close proximity to Sultanahmet & Hagia Sophia Mosque. Very clean. Worth noting there is no restaurant so breakfast is not provided. I thought breakfast was included when booked but there are good food options in nearby.

I felt like i was camping in Istanbul. The bed was rock hard and the pillow not much softer. And, as the water heater was broken, all showers were done with cool water. It does wake you up, but not what i was looking for. It took five days of our six day stay to get hot water. Istanbul was great, but i would skip the hotel.

The bathroom and shower was dirty. The towels had holes in them.

Room stubo of mould and we eventually started to have breathing difficulties in tie property. The next day all of us were ill. Were were given a refund for the remainder of our night but this ruined our stay in istanbul.

We has a 1 year old infant with us. It is very irresponsible to gove a room in this condition to anyone, yet alone a family with a child. There was also a thick layer of dust above the ac, lighting and very dirty rug in the room.

We eventually found another property across the road that was both cheaper and much cleaner.

Convenient walking distance to Blue Mosque and the markets. Good restaurants nearby

Very well placed hotel but in very poor conditions. The quality of linen and towels is very low and the noise from the street is very high. We do not recommend this hotel.

Very happy with my stay here. The location was ideal, just a 5 minutes or so walk from the most famous must see attractions of Istanbul.

It was written in booking the hotel is with the breakfast included.

The stuff never asked whether we need anything.

I liked the area around the property. The service was not bad, and owners were good.

Internet was so slow and bad, all the time I was using my data plan. The value of the money is more way high for this property, furniture is so old and wardrobe was broken, and it was noisy.

Great value, most major attractions within walking distant.

My wife and I had a good stay at Hotel Basileus for a couple of nights before starting a cruise out of Istanbul. The hotel is not fancy, but it was a great value. Some highlights worth noting were:
- Very low price
- Great location, a short walk from most of the major tourist sites in Istanbul's old city
- Quiet neighborhood but close to everything
- Extremely helpful staff, especially Kenan, who provided good recommendations for places to eat and things to do.

I felt at home, the reception was wonderful, especially Mr. Ahmet, they responded to all my requests with a smile and satisfaction, they helped me a lot.
