A nice small room with a cozy bed, right in the Corner of the Christmas Market. Unfortunately, the old Type Windows let the cold get in. Also there was no hair dryer. In the bathroom there where small spots of mold.
Lovely hotel with character. Very central location. Lovely friendly staff and amazing breakfast. Only downside is the stairs are quite steep and windy which may not be suitable for those either reduced mobility. Would totally recommend.
the stairs are very steep, no lift, if you have limited mobility this hotel isnt for you .the room was small and very tired decor, small bed, needs new linens, towels, shower leaked, no aircon just fan. good location though, nice friendly staff. continental breakfast good choice and fresh .ok for 1 night stay.
Really great location a short walk to the centre of Bruges. and it's excellent value. Rooms are very clean. It's an old building with character and rooms vary in size. We had 4 rooms and can recommend room 3. My room had the smallest least accessible handbasin I've used but a good shower. Unfortunately, my friend was not pleased with room 14 which was small and on another staircase away from us.
Charming hotel just in the center of the medievel town of Brugge. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Delicious breakfast (for instance fresh and natural fruit salad; diverse kinds of fresh bread). Very comfortable bedmattress. Room perfectly clean. For people with low mobility the staircase might be a problem ginven that the hotel is a renewed house in the center of Brugge. If you look for more than just a simple place to stay when visiting this wonderful city this is surely a right choise
I have stayed here twice and look forward to returning. We had a balcony view over the street which was great watching the people walking by. Being in the centre of the town was so nice as we would walk out of the doors and into the town without having to walk far. The room was really clean and comfortable. I certainly didn't mind the spiral staircase as its a character of the building. My wife and I enjoyed the breakfast with a nice range to eat, especially liked the rolls with meat and cheese. The coffee was very nice with the fresh orange juice. The price was very good and would recommend staying here.
We were in Bruges about 2 years ago and we stayed at the Hotel Notre Dame.
It was a wonderful trip and the hotel was fantastic. The room was very nice, the landlords treated us great and the breakfast was delicious.
I hope to be able to return soon but next time I want my stay to last longer.
Thank you very much for making our trip wonderful.
This hotel was booked online and is as charming as it looked online. Not good for elderly or infirm as there is no lift and has a lovely but steep staircase. Staff were very welcoming on our arrival. It is right in the city centre and around the corner from the fascinating Markt. Very close to lots of dining options. Reasonably priced for its location. No tea/coffee making facilities which would be an added bonus. Breakfast downstairs was very nice.
Hotel Notre Dame has ambiance and charm. It is a small hotel in a great location; the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and had adequate room for luggage. Nice breakfast included.
It’s located just beside the old chocolate house and we stayed there for 1 night. We felt it’s more like an Airbnb and the host was really friendly and helpful. He helped us carry our luggage up the steep spiral stairs. Breakfast was good and the variety was just nice. Worth every penny spent as it’s only a few mins walk away from the Markt square.
this hotel was easy to find from the train station, only 10 min walk, so saved on a transfer, we was greeted by a nice lady at reception very friendly and helpful.
the people that own this hotel also own the chocolate shop next door, and so when entering our room we had a little box with 2 lovely chocolates and a bottle of water.
we had what they called the superior room, hmm it wasnt very big at all to be honest, an the shower was so clogged up it would'nt drain so u had to shower in 1 min flat. by the time we went down to tell someone reception was closed, its only open untill6pm which is a little bit awkward. i dont feel like it was worth the £198 we paid for 2 nights i think your defo paying for location and not the room, the location is perfect for the christmas market its litrally outside the door and the second one is a 5 min walk,
the bed was the most comfortable thing ever slept so well..
the breakfast was ok.
the stairs in ths hotel are not for the faint hearted, very very steep and creaky. quite scary if im honest, an no lift, so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.
but overall a pleasent stay, would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be in the heart of bruges.
Room was small but lovely, hotel is beautiful and conveniently located! It was decorated so nice for Christmas! Staff was very nice and helpful when giving information about the town! They had a nice little free breakfast with coffee in the morning!
Drove from Charleroi airport and found the hotel absolutely no problem.
As we entered the hotel we were greeted by a very happy gentleman. Checked us in very quickly and showed us to our room. Nothing was a problem for him.
He provided us with a map of the city and pointed out places for us to visit. He also give us his personal recommendations about where to go/eat. Every where he told us to go was brilliant. Couldn’t of thanked him enough.
Room was ideal. 2 single beds with plenty of room. Clean & tidy. Bathroom was massive and the shower was powerful, warm & clean.
Didn’t book breakfast with our stay so can’t comment on the food.
I’d recommend this hotel to anyone. 2 minutes walk from the main square. Right by the Christmas markets. Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Lovely & clean.
Thank you for your help.
Kev.
This hotel is wonderful. Owners are very friendly, kind, welcoming people. Nothing is a problem and they were very helpful. The stairs is indeed steep and not for someone who has mobility issues. That said the room was cosy and adequate for the money we paid it was certainly good value which also included breakfast. The location is superb literally on the doorstep of all the attractions. Would most definitely recommend.
Awsome location. Historic building in the center of the old town. Good breakfast. Good service. Can't go wrong with this hotel.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff - easy chech in and out , perfect location , room and bathroom a bit small but comfortable bed - all you need for short stay
This is not a hotel, it is more like a guesthouse or B&B and you pay extra for breakfast. There are only 10 rooms and they are tiny. We had a twin room, which had the toilet and shower in a a small closet. You had to squeeze into the shower, as the door could not open even half way, due to the toilet. The beds, which were meant to be twins (singles) were half the size of of a single bed. When we went to reception and explained and was told this is not a 5* hotel and we have no other rooms. The breakfast was very small continental fare costing 9 euros. Outside, they advertise the same room we booked, for 80 euros, when we asked if we could have at that price they said no.
If you are looking for a hostel type feel, with B&B prices this is for you. Just do not expect to see any staff.
For fit/strong/athletic guests the climb up to the required floor should present no problem. From reception to the first floor are twenty-three steps on the spiral staircase; from there to the second floor another twenty-three steps follow.
There is yet another (higher) floor accessible by this spiral staircase only, whose number of steps up to/down from there we - fortunately - did not have to bother with.
The location is very good, with the cathedral, museums and the Markt being all within very easy and very brief strolling distance.
The room is compact, suitable for a short stay, as there is no storage space or wardrobe/chest of drawers - just a few hooks and coat-hangers.
The room and en-suite bathroom are kept clean. and, although a kettle is available - provided that the water-jug is adequately filled to allow for further boilings of the kettle - by the reception, each room would be more welcoming if there were individual facilities for producing a hot drink.
Breakfast offers a good choice of fare and is not totally identical every day. A warm welcome to the start of the day is happily provided.
We enjoyed our stay, although my wife found the stairs a bit of a trial the higher she climbed and the descents a little daunting, preferring to carry nothing (not even her hand-bag) so that both hands were entirely free and unencumbered and could grasp firmly both hand-rails as she wound her way down.
However, whilst it added a new element, it did not detract from an interesting time in Brugge.
My arrival was perfect because the location of this hotel is really good, everything is walking distance and beside is an amazing chocolate store, the woman who received me was kind and helpful because she gave me a map of the atractions in Bruges and explained me everything, the place was clean loved that specialy the smell of the blanket. But in the morning a grumpy man
knocked on my door before 11 in the morning saying that it was time to leave, he refused the luggage service and when I tried to stretched his hand to thank him he took it off saying that what he wanted was the key to the room, no say goodbye very bad attention of that man, he made me feel bad. And the stairs was small, but this is a general "problem" in many hotels in Belgium.
Marc is very friendly hotel owner and hotel room is very clean. Just a minor disappointment, the room at the hotel has no kettle. Every time when we need to use the kettle to boil hot water, we have to go to downstairs at the entrance to use the kettle and kettle kept at the pantry area. Is ok for the summer time but I think is not convenient for winter or cold weather as guests would like to make hot drink to keep warm after a long walked.
