Staff great, mattress terrible. Double bed and every slight movement felt by partner. It needs upgrading, otherwise everything fine.
I am 93 and previous visits have always been in courtyard, very comfortable. Will try and book direct next time so not having to drag heavy suitcases up outside stairs.
Breakfast was advertised on the website. Full English. We were told there was no chef on Mondays so only continental breakfast was available. When asked when we would like it we said 8 am. The lady said could we do 9 am or even better 9.30. We said we could do 9.30 if that suited. We emerged from our room and went into the pub at 930. It was deserted, in fact quite surreal. The lady appeared at 9.45 looking a little perplexed, even a bit dishevelled. We got some toast with frozen butter, jam, cold croissants, and two apples. No apology or explanation for the lateness. I'm not sure what was going on here, maybe the owners were away, who knows? My advice to the owners would be provide what you advertise and with efficiency or just don't advertise it. Our room was spacious and the bed supremely comfortable. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Nice shower. We were up in Oxfordshire for a friend's funeral so booked a nice looking place not far from the crematorium. That was our reason for going there. The lateness in the morning left us cutting it fine to get there but in fairness they didn't know that. Should have been a bit more assertive on reflection.
See above.
