Staff members were friendly and food was fab. Especially Breakfast
Shower cubicle
I have mobility problems and it was a tight squeeze getting in though the door
Also beds lumpy.
Staff were LOVELY. Absolutely could not fault them. Food was great. The rooms are cute but they probably need a little updating
All of the drinks I requested weren’t available. Staff seemed panicky to try their best, as if they were scared?
The room we stayed in seemed to have everyone’s water pipes running through so it woke us up constantly during the night.
We over heard the owner speaking to an elderly couple in the morning about wanting a refund because they’d had money taken from their account when they’d used a voucher. So incredibly shocked a business owner would speak down to elderly people (or anyone) like that. Especially me being a business owner myself, I’d never dream of it. Quite shocking actually and really disgusting, no wonder the staff are terrified.
Very comfortable, clean & all on ground level , ideal for 2 less mobile travellers.

Een prima kamer . Leuke pub en goed restaurant
De hygiëne liet te wensen. Maar een grote handdoek voor twee personen
Friendly staff
Good location for overnight stay on way to Plymouth.
Rooms need deep clean or makeover.
No hair dryer in room.
Friendly staff and rustic interior to the pub. The accommodation was in a courtyard of eight rooms the room was compact with a small shower room the bed was comfortable and it was very clean. The evening menu was great as was the pies sadly no fresh fish on the menu. They advertised cocktails but when we ordered a Margarita we were told they didn’t have any tequila.
The breakfasts were a bit touch and go they never looked liked the picture on their website. The first breakfast wasn’t that good the eggs were overcooked as was the bacon, the next morning all fine then back to being overcooked again.
Made welcome family friendly
Nothing
Close to the venue we were visiting

Good for overnight stay on way to Plymouth. Good breakfast.
Rooms could do with makeover and a deep clean.
Atmosphere..Phil and Martin and their staff
Food was excellent..breakfast superb
Food and all staff were nice Very dog friendly.
The room where we stayed was Number 1 Oak
A bit too close to smoking area so when people nipped out for a fag our room got the brunt of it
Unusually hot weather meant we slept with the door and window open. But overall nice break
Great atmosphere. Lovely place to stay - drink, eat & sleep!
It’s set in the Forest of Dean…
The rooms are really basic, for the cost! Luckily, I had an email confirmation on my phone as the receptionist said I’d booked for Sunday not Saturday…
The staff tried to resolve issues and were understanding.
The twin bed room was tired, the bedding was clean but stained as were the cushions. The mattress was of the old fashioned single coil type and was extremely uncomfortable, you sank through the springs to feel the base. So uncomfortable we asked to change rooms. This was not possible so we had to leave as it was too bad to sleep on.
The garden was unkempt and some seating desperately needing paint and attention as did the area outside the rooms. The pictures on booking.com of Alex Polizi refurbishing the pub appeared to be of some time ago, and sadly the room standards have not been maintained. Fully appreciate the difficulties of hospitality, but a comfy, spotless bed should be a given. We have had no response from the pub regarding a partial refund given we were not able to stay due to inadequate beds.
Good size bed and room.
Room could do with a re-dec and the flooring needs replacing.
Looking a bit tired now.
Food excellent 👌
Very hot in rooms no fan or ac
