Ideal location for my work and lovely memy
Room was ideal for our overnight stay, it had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean.
changes made on-line were not communicated to the property.
It was just what we wanted for a one-night stay. The staff were very kind & efficient. Supper was faultless, but breakfast was slow and the "crispy" bacon too thick and tough.
The pub and food were lovely, my room was tired, had no desk and could have been alot cleaner.
I like the friendly relaxed feel, the staff were lovely and the food was really nice.
The bed was the main problem however as it felt like worn springs
Property felt cold when we got there and we were unable to get the radiators on, think they must be on a timer, very limited menu, have stayed in a lot better accomodation for less money than we paid £136 for 1 night and breakfast was another £13,95 per person.
The room was absolutely adequate and clean although the mattresses were not really comfortable. There was some ceiling mould in the bathroom.
The service was very good and staff very friendly and helpful.
Really friendly and helpful staff, I had to change the date of my stay at short notice and they were very understanding and accommodating.
For an overnight stay this is fine. It was a great location for us on our trip. We didn’t eat at the pub but it looked like a warm cosy place.
Great food & beer, good location for country walks and the Forest of Dean area. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Cosy country pub atmosphere with a lovely beer garden. Menu choice was good meals were generous. Definitely worth a visit for their pies!
Small and comfortable room with a large bed. Plenty of small that was well apportioned. Slept well. Great food with excellent service. Highly recommend
My dad and I were on holiday driving all over England when we stumbled upon this beautiful inn after a long day of driving and exploring. It was comfortable and welcoming. The dinning lodge was perfect for a couple of pints and a wonderful dinner. As an American when you imagine the UK this place was the perfect example of expectations meets reality. In 10 years for my 50th I plan to take my son and we will absolutely be staying her.
Very nice pub, pies are excellent.
Rooms small, no table to put anything. Shower is good.
Mattress not at all comfortable, but staff are very nice.
Lovely area and a friendly welcome. Didn't get to dine in, which is a shame because the pies sounded good! Two criticisms - firstly my wife found the room hot (but everywhere was hot!) and secondly (and more importantly) the young woman on breakfast duty shouldn't have been left on her own when she was so new to it. She brought us hot drinks for two but seemed not to spot we only one cup; brought us apple juice and called it orange juice (which we'd ordered); and brought my wife a vegetarian breakfast with an egg when she expressly asked for no egg. She was a great kid and I don't blame her, she should have had somebody supervising her.
Very pleasant ,helpful staff. Hotel was ideally situated for our trip to the Malvern Spring show.
Excellent Stay once Again.
Stayed here 5 times,always Exceptional.
Phil clearly runs an Excellent operation, with Fantastic Staff to support him.
Well Done
Cleanliness could be improved in several areas. The tea/coffee area was dirty with hairs, dust and stains. One of the teaspoon had residue from previous use. There was dried toothpaste or similar in the sink and down the side of the vanity unit along with dried blood near the bottom. Many cobwebs and dust at high levels and inside the radiator grills. Otherwise, everything was great and staff super friendly and helpful.
Lovely staff who were very friendly and very hospitable. Good food both breakfast and evening meal.
the friendliness of all the staff was lovely, food was brilliant the best game pie we have ever tasted. such a great shame that we had to cut short our stay by one day due to our car playing up.
would have liked a rack or similar to put our cases on to save bending (couple of old crocks) and a comfortable chair by the mirror. won't stop us booking again. thank you all.
