This is suppose to be a 5 star hotel but I am quite disturbed by their drinking water policy. Overall for two nights we are paying 400 USD but they only provide 2 bottles ( that too, each bring less than a ltr) per day. An average human body needs 3 ltr of water per day and in a humid climate like Han hoi , that will go up. I am amazed that how can a 5 star hotel have restrictions on a basic requirement like a water consumption
We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff really made it special. And they truly know how to do (that's why I chose M Gallery, as a former M Gallery staff myself).
L’emplacement le personnel très sympathique ils nous ont gardé nos valises bien que nous ayons réservé une nuit chez eux merci beaucoup
Le manque de luminosité dans la chambre
not a lot
tacky room... even though they claimed rooms were recently redone, fit finish and cleanliness was horrible... probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in... spoke with management regarding basic cleanliness etc and they seemed to be quite satisfied with their score of 8.5 and even claimed that several guests had given them excellent reviews...!! if they can't see the horrendous condition of the rooms and want to believe that they are doing good then good luck to them.... definitely not M gallery standard... Incompetent management...
I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel de l’Opera Hanoi, particularly appreciating its excellent location in the heart of Hanoi. The hotel is conveniently situated within easy reach of many restaurants, cafés, and major attractions, making it an ideal choice for exploring the city.
The boutique-style design is elegant and modern, while the room was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The bed was particularly comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day out in Hanoi. Breakfast at Lautrec Restaurant did not offer an extensive selection, but the quality of the food was very good. I was also impressed by the warm and attentive service from the restaurant and bar teams, who were genuinely welcoming and always willing to assist.
That said, there are a few areas where I believe the hotel could further enhance the guest experience. As a five-star property, I expected a more polished arrival experience, particularly regarding luggage assistance and the introduction of hotel facilities and services. During check-in, there was no welcome drink and I received very limited information about breakfast hours and location, and the bell team did not accompany us to the room or introduce the facilities and services. While these may seem like small details, they are important elements of a five-star arrival experience.
There were also a few issues in our room (215) that I hope the hotel will pay closer attention to. We noticed insects, including drain flies, in the room, suggesting that pest control may need further attention. In addition, the bathroom door did not have an internal lock, which was somewhat inconvenient for a family or group of friends sharing the room.
Finally, the swimming pool on the third floor felt relatively small for the size of the hotel and was quite deep. Families travelling with young children should be particularly cautious, as there appeared to be limited staff supervision around the pool area.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the hotel’s location, design, room comfort, and especially the friendly service from the restaurant and bar teams. With some improvements in arrival service, guest orientation, pest control, room functionality, and pool safety, I believe Hotel de l’Opera Hanoi could deliver an even more complete five-star experience.
The bed was very comfortable, and you can choose from different types of pillows. If you stay in a suite, you also receive a welcome fruit basket, a slice of opera cake and a bottle of sparkling water, which was a lovely touch. Another perk of the suite is complimentary TWG tea and coffee (even coconut coffee – yum!) in the lounge throughout the day, as well as unlimited high-quality evening drinks and appetisers. The bath was also large enough for my 6ft 2in son to relax in comfortably.
Room 214 has a connecting door to Room 215, which unfortunately provides virtually no sound insulation. I could hear the guest in Room 215 unbuckling his belt and undoing his zip. On our first night, the guests kept us awake until after 2am with singing, talking and laughing. The following night, the noise continued until around 11pm, and on the third night, until around 10pm. Eventually, we found ourselves making noise whenever they did, which made our neighbours realise just how little sound insulation there was.
If you are an Accor member - do note you will not get points if you book through booking.com. Having said that the booking.com price was very reasonable which made up for the loss of points.
Good location
The pillows were too high and the mattress was too soft, which made it very difficult for me to sleep and was not good for my back/spine. The noise from a nearby bar was also quite loud and affected the overall quality of the stay.
The food quality was not very good. My booking package included both dinner and breakfast, but no staff brought dinner to my room or asked whether I would like to have dinner.
This is a great hotel, boutique style with lovely decor and a good vibe.
Our suite was very good and recently refurbished so it felt nice and new. The layout is great - a powder room, kitchenette, dining and sitting area upon entrance and then through to the bedroom which had an office space and another seating area, with the bathroom and walk in robe off the hallway.
The bed was so comfortable and the room kept spotless by the housekeeping crew.
The restaurant Lautrec is set in an atrium. This is a beautiful setting. The staff here are very good and special thanks to Quan who always ensured we were being looked after. The menu is extensive with quality and presentation a priority.
We had drinks and canapes La Fee Verte each evening. The tapas menu had a good variety of choice. We were impressed with the staff and service at the bar.
The location is great - walking distance to so many tourist destinations.
The smiling staff, great accommodation and food is worth a return visit.
Great hotel with great location. Hotel very cozy and staffs are very nice, helpful.
Ambiance. Friendly service
We’re doing some temporary refit of the foyer area. Nothing to complain about though. They were very quick.
I usually pick hotels based on location first so I chose this hotel for its excellent location.
Now the hotel itselfz rooms are clean and well equipped and you have all you need. Breakfast buffet is excellent with lots of choice and every morning we were greeted with smiles. I would definitely stay again
It completely exceeded my expectations. Did not expect to arrive at such a grand, yet quaint hotel full of character from the moment i stepped into the main lobby. Situated along the heart of luxe boutiques, yet surrounded by local stores and eateries with beautiful identities. Breakfast was very hearty. Service was outstanding, staff were incredibly helpful. Room and bed were very comfortable. Walking distance to the Hoan Kiem lake, and theres a famed ice cream shop right across the street from the hotel that has preserved flavours from decades ago, making the area so vibrant at night.
Cant say i had anything to dislike about the property at all.
