Pleasant staff, good food and reasonably comfortable.
Rooms and corridors looked a bit dated and in need of tlc.
My friends and I had a great weekend stay at the end of February. All staff were friendly and helpful. The evening meal we had in their restaurant was good and reasonably priced. The breakfasts were excellent with a good choice of breakfast dishes. Lilly and Inti were particularly charming, friendly and really looked after us. We have already booked for our next trip.
Breakfast was great also evening meal chefs homemade chicken pie
The road closure but it's a ten minute detour
This is a lovely hotel in a great location. We stayed in room 1 in the courtyard. It’s a very spacious room with a bath and shower over. King size bed plus a single. There is a private seating area at the back. Some undercover seating area at the front. There is an undercover car park just a few steps away. Excellent breakfast . The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Pleasant bar area. Will definitely return
Dinner and breakfast was good .
The room and tv was very small and the bathroom !
The general look of the hotel
We paid for bed and breakfast..when asked the chef for a plain omelette because i have chronic acid reflux..they couldn't do it as its not on the menu..so the content of my breakfast was toast and a banana that I bought..so for this reason would not go back
Hotel very good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and hot and enjoyable
Thanks 😊
Egg cook a little more.
Very good choice , excellent service ,friendly staff. Great location.
Bathroom wasn't clean , shower door came off , twice. Water took two long to drain, needs to be looked at, room 5.
The included breakfast was a delight as there was a cold buffet and then a large and tasty selection of hot items to order. These included both small and large Welsh breakfast, kippers, pancakes and eggs several different ways.
Dinner and breakfast very nice and plenty of choice, served with a friendly smile
Nothing
A local group of us went to The Sportsman for a pre-Christmas lunch. We had a fantastic time, food was lovely and staff were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was nicely decorated for Christmas. Will definitely return in the near future.
Food was delicious, both breakfast and dinner, very good location good for parking under shelter and secure
Nothing to dislike
Located near to where I was working and all the staff were attentive and polite. The meal and breakfast were quickly served and nice to eat, even though IMO expensive plus service charged added on.
I was in room 25, there wasn’t many people staying, I think it was one of the furthest away rooms in the hotel.
Comfortable, clean room and very friendly staff. Room was spacious and it was great to have access to an enclosed outside space.
Our dog was very happy with the room and outdoor space.
My wife and I enjoyed our recent stay at The Royal Sportsman. We found the staff to very attentive and friendly. The food was very nice - breakfast and dinner. The hotel is a bit dated in parts (bathroom oil our room definitely needs to be refurbished) but it feels like they are refurbing the hotel in stages, I suppose when finances allow.
The Bar and Dining room areas have been refurbed and are nice and warm and cosy. If you are visiting the Portmadog/Portmeirion area, we would definitely recommend you stay in the Royal Sportsman, as its good value for money.
