One of the worst experiences we’ve ever had.
We were charged over $1,000 for a New Year’s Eve event that was completely misleading and did not match what was advertised. There was no DJ, no live jazz, and the event was extremely poorly organized. Music was played from a laptop, and unbelievably, the countdown happened after midnight.
Even more serious: we were served expired food, and despite clearly informing staff about food allergies, this was ignored. As a result, we suffered food poisoning. This is a serious health and safety violation.
We feel scammed and deeply disappointed. We are seeking a full refund and compensation for this unacceptable experience. I strongly advise others to think twice before booking events here.
I did like their bar and restaurant. Food was excellent. Friendly staff.
I was quite disappointed with my recent stay. The pillows and bedsheets appeared to be of poor quality and seemed to have been used extensively before. The towels provided were also smelly and dirty, which was unacceptable.
Additionally, the pool and SPA facilities were poorly maintained and poorly designed, making the experience messy and uninviting. Overall, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and comfort, and unfortunately, this stay did not meet those expectations.
It was relaxing and beautiful.
Excellent hotel! The staff is so incredibly attentive. My daughter got sick on our trip and they did everything they could to assist us. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend this hotel!
Kept beautifully and friendly staff.
Stayed here with my girlfriend and had an amazing stay. Aktish at the front desk was very helpful during check-in and provided me with plenty of suggestions for unwinding, along with useful information about the hotel. I also happened to run into Nolan from Security I believe, on my way down in the elevator, and he was very friendly and attentive. Even though it was a quick ride, the interaction genuinely brightened my morning. It’s little moments like these that make a hotel feel truly welcoming.
We had a very comfortable clean suite that had all the toiletries you needed, great room service, excellent location, and close to shops and supermarkets. Being close to Scotia Square made it easy to get around on the trains and the subway. Parking was easy. Staff were great and the check-in was superb. They send someone up with you to show you the room.
Can’t think of anything.
I would not recommend staying in this hotel. We're here right now and it's been a comedy of errors.
We booked a deluxe suite, arrived at the hotel a few minutes after 4 pm and our room wasn't ready (check in is 3 pm). We waited 10 minutes or so before they told us room was ready. They supposedly upgraded us to a corner suite but it's not an upgrade. 12th floor, no view, and next to the elevator. I would have rather had our original reserved room. I suspect the room we booked wasn't available as the hotel was at full capacity. The worst part is the elevator noise. This room should not actually be in their inventory. You can hear the elevator in the living room.
Their housekeeping is quite bad. They don't replenish items in the room (soap, cotton balls, coffee pods). I don't think anything has been replenished. They also may or may not do turn down service and when they do, they don't shut the curtains. It takes forever to get anything if you call and ask for something. Tonight they tried to do turn down services at 8:30 pm. What hotel does turn down at that hour????
I spoke to the manager about the noise issue. Her solution was to show me a suite that was like the one we reserved. My expectation was you provides us with a better room. No need to move to a similar room.
We usually stay in Ritz Carltons, Four Seasons, Peninsulas, and Belmond properties so we were expecting the same level of service at this property but this hotel is definitely not a luxury experience.
$3000 later and lesson learned. We won't be back and will probably stay at the Four Seasons.
The only positives are the breakfast food is good and the concierges are excellent. Otherwise, stay far away from this hotel.
Maybe management will respond to my review but the issues should have been taken care of during our stay.
It’s luxury for sure and the resturant staff was nice
My room smelled like muffballs that wasn’t pleasant
We stayed here about four months ago, and at the time, I shared a review highlighting several service shortcomings. We decided to give the property another chance — and I’m so glad we did. This time, we’re genuinely impressed. Every interaction so far has been exceptional, from Engum at the front desk to Steve in F&B, and others across the team.
This is exactly what one expects from a five-star property: a “yes” attitude, a strong sense of teamwork, and a genuine desire to personalize and elevate the guest experience. Whether it’s a shift in leadership or renewed focus, whatever changed clearly worked. Kudos to the entire team for turning things around and delivering an unforgettable stay.
