Although the hotel does not have private parking facilities due to its prominent location in the town center, it is located very close to a public pay display car park. It is only chargeable between the hours of 08:00 - 18:00, and overnight it is free (advisable to put a ticket on your car overnight as it does not start charging until the morning, so then saving you the inconvenience of rushing out early in the morning). There are also numerous alternative parking facilities around the town, some of which are free and all within walking distance of the hotel.
Check-in after 23:00 is only possible by contacting the property at least 48 hours in advance. Reception closes at 23:00 after which access is not possible.
Please note that extra beds can only be accommodated in selected Superior and Executive rooms, subject to a charge per night.Extra beds should be requested before arrival and are only guaranteed once confirmed by the hotel.
Pets: Assistance & guide dogs are permitted.
We welcome well-behaved dogs in selected rooms, at an additional rate of £20 per dog and up to a maximum of 2 small dogs. The location was superb. Close to town & the Castle. The staff were very polite & helpful. The room was very well appointed with an upright fan, dressing gowns & slippers, tea & coffee provided & delicious shortbread biscuits.
The toilet wouldn’t flush properly. Staff looked at the problem prior to arranging professional help.
Room was clean and full of nice touches, like bottled still and sparkling water, coffee pod machine, good fan (as temps were high outside) etc. Lovely breakfast.

Mycket trevlig personal och rummet var mysigt och välstädat. Mycket god frukost med god kunskap om och alternativ för glutenintolerans.
Very pleasant staff, especially Yvonne who served our breakfast. She is a delight - great stories and tips for local places to visit. So much more enjoyable than the blank faces so often serving in hotels. Very comfortable beds and the A/C machine in our room was very welcome. Generous bottles of water replaced daily and even a little bottle of milk for in-room coffee. Someone has really thought through the customer experience at The Swan and got it right.
Didn't much enjoy the motor cycle club gathering for their outing outside our window but cant blame the hotel for that

Our room was spotlessly clean and very nicely furnished.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, a wide range of dishes superbly cooked using quality products. Breakfast was also excellent.

The staff were so kind and friendly, they were also really helpful. The rooms were decorated beautifully and the amenities were excellent. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. 10/10 recommend.
Only that there wasn’t air con in the rooms and it was a heatwave however the room did come with a Dyson tower fan which was helpful in the heat. The air con isn’t really a criticism as the hotel is an old pub so it’s not feasible to have air con.
