Gondwana Game Reserve

Gondwana offers a fantastic experience for anyone looking for a short Safari within the confines of a private game concession. There is a diverse array of animals to view in amongst beautiful scenery despite being close to Mossel Bay.
Our accommodation went way beyond our expectations - a huge 3 bedroom lodge all to ourselves. We loved the 15+ minute self drive to get there!
The food at Gondwana is nothing like you get on a typical safari - it’s more like a 5* hotel experience with so much choice (take aways available!).
In summary we had an excellent experience

We stayed at Gondwana Game Reserve three nights at Lehele Villas....and it was GREAT.
In particular our guide, we luckily got assigned, Sonny, made all game drivers special. No Rushy No Hurry, Patience, and endless knowledge sharing !

Simply wonderful. We had an amazing guide, Greg (“The Postman”, because he always delivered!) who answered all our questions knowledgeably. He was simply exceptional and made our stay! A beautiful reserve, with many beautiful species. We had the three bedroom Lehele Villa and it was perfectly clean, and cleaned twice a day. We didn’t join for lunch but the breakfast and dinner menus had excellent vegan options. We particularly enjoyed the Vegan Eggs Florentine. Thank you so much, would love to visit again.

Wir waren zwei Nächte in der Lodge. Es war das zentrale Erlebnis unserer Südafrikareise. Wunderschön fanden wir unsere Unterkunft in einer der Kwena-Villen. Die Ranger, mit denen wir die vier Ausfahrten gemacht haben, waren absolut super und wir haben die big five fast alle gesehen. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert. Nicht so toll fanden wir das all - inklusive Essen. Da gibt man sich leider nicht so viel Mühe, wie es für so eine teure, tolle Lodge angemessen wäre, sowohl bei der Vielfalt der Auswahl als auch bei der Qualität. Eher mittelmäßiger Mainstream. Unser Sohn bekam vom Essen Magen-Darm mit Fieber. Das Personal, das wir um Hilfe baten war sehr bemüht uns zu helfen. Allerdings kein Arzt weit und breit. Das Team in der Rezeption wirkte bei Ankunft und Abreise unmotiviert und desinteressiert. Die Liegeplätze am Pool sind zu wenige, es war überfüllt.

Perfekt organisiert, sicher, sehr schönes Zimmer (Kwena), nettes Team, super Pirschfahrten, alles gesehen, was es zu sehen gibt.

Vi var mindre nöjda med maten och service i restaurangen.

Unser Aufenthalt war großartig. Villa mit allem Komfort, das Essen, die Game drives , kurz gesagt….die ganze Organisation von A-Z.
Das Gamereserve ist eine ganz klare Empfehlung.

Man kann esswirklich nicht beschreibe . Man muss es erlebt haben.

World Class place, front of house top drawer and the Guide we had Clavin was a perfect host - the variation of animals was stunning, the Lodge we had was out of a postcard movie BUT some very easy things would make it a 12/10 experience - we waited ridiculously for a drink when arriving and even longer for food - seldom have i paid so much for accommodation to be so so so so cold in the Lodge....just could not get it warm and people stayed in bed with a blanket on - insane and meant we did nto utilise the wonderful space on offer

Warm and kind hospitality, natural surrounded with nice air and animals and plants, so relaxed, we think about our one earth. Thank you very much!!
One thing that we felt difficult was that everyday hot water was not enough and we, including small children were really cold as we visited in winter; if it were summer, maybe no problem.

Late check in after 3 and the room wasn’t cleaned and room dining its take life time to arrive after 2 hours off ordering food even when they know i have kid with t me ! And its wasn’t safe place we have been sornden by elephants and we where in our car no one tell as instructions out informed us what to do we think its was safe place but really last day i was soooooo scared and I think elephants will attack my family we go speed in our car then when i ask for guidance for take us outside i realize that I should wait the elephants until they walk alone and go far .. so we got lucky!!!!!!
