Nice hotel. Worth what we paid
Pros:

Very comfy bed and pillows. Nice breakfast

Cons:

More staff. Had to look for staff at the bar, at night when we couldn’t get into our room and again at breakfast for more food

Really want this place to do better for the sake of the new owners and staff
Pros:

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Bedding was really clean as was the bathroom, despite being old. Think we may not have had the best rooms as others were heard to say that they thought the place was wonderful.

Cons:

All incredibly tired, new owners though so I believe things may change and also don't know if we were in very, very old rooms but the hotel is seemingly in need of a major overhaul, rotten windows, 1980s decor and very dirty walls and carpets in the corridor. One wall had drink thrown all up it and around a door frame, which could easily be wiped off.
Breakfast was chaotic we waited a very long time for each individual breakfast item to come out, by the time it did others had used up the ones that had been out earlier. Cold water for hot drinks and food not being replaced quick enough. Apparently it is early days, but breakfast needs to improve in terms of organisation.
I hate to leave negative feedback but given how nice the staff were, it would be a real shame for this hotel to not do well.

A decent stop to break up the journey
Pros:

The Location was nice, the food was good, the staff was friendly, The room was decently sized

Cons:

The accessible parking didn't have much room, the hotel's name on the front was different from what we booked so it took us some time to find. It was understaffed even though the staff was nice. One of the bedside lamps was broken.

Will not stay again
Cons:

The hotel is in the middle of being renovated. The room still needed attention, window frames in poor repair. The breakfast area only 1/2 finished. The table we were sitting at (we were unaware at the time had a dodgy leg leading to the table tipping causing a full coffee to spill over my husband. Thankfully the coffee was only lukewarm (only just been poured).
Had to wait a long time a reception to be checked in no one around despite ringing the bell.

Above budget price but lower on the ladder than a travel lodge.
Pros:

The hotel was in need of some TLC, very rough around the edges.

Cons:

It could do with a good paint and tidy up. The bed whilst big was far too hard. All the blinds and skirting boards were very dusty. Pillow were well past there life as was the duvet, very lumpy.

Great place to stay for a bed and food after a long day playing rugby.
Pros:

The hotel had a restaurant, pub attached which did fantastic food . The staff were brilliant and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
Room was simple but comfy.

Location, size of the single room, quality of room, bed

Cons:

Bathroom overall quality not upto the mark. Also bedroom doesn't have anything to put luggage on.
Also during my stay, I got outside the room to use shared toilet at 5am. I luckily took card with room me. After coming back to unlock the door, the card didn't work. I went downstairs to the reception but nobody was there. A staff member turned up after 15 mins and sorted it out but it was a scary incident for me. This lock needs looking into.

Pros:

We only stayed 1 night it was close to the venue so that was usefull. Room was a large family room which also is usefull

Cons:

The carpet was thread burn and the room was full of small moths. The bathroom had signes of water damage allover.

Cons:

Room was dirty and run down. Broken glass drawers. Flacking paint. Missing trim to bathroom. Photos were not accurate. Entrance and corridors looked in need of cleaning and decor. Didn’t stay.

Incredible value for money
Pros:

Amazing value, great staff and an excellent Restaurant. The property has new owners and they cannot be more helpful.
Improvements are ongoing and I am sure that given time they will transform this lovely building.

Cheap overnighter!
Pros:

Good choice of breakfast options but could have been a bit hotter.
Overall good value for the price.
Hotel room was basic and the whole place could do with a bit of a refurb but not unpleasant.
