Disappointed – Poor Infection Control and Lack of Maintenance

We were excited about our stay, and the first day was lovely. The location is amazing, right by the beach, and the buffet dinner was very good.

Unfortunately, things changed quickly. On the second night, our youngest child became very ill. I went to the reception and mentioned I suspected food poisoning, but was told there was a norovirus outbreak at the hotel. Several guests had already reported symptoms. We were simply advised to wash our hands more often.

I asked what measures the hotel was taking, and they said hand sanitizer was available in the restaurants. However, later that day at the snack bar, there was no soap or sanitizer anywhere, and no signage or warnings about the virus were visible around the hotel.

That evening, my husband also got sick. The next day, I spoke with reception again and was told the outbreak had started two days before we checked in. Why were we not informed at check-in?

Most of our holiday ended up being spent in the room, with half our group sick, and the rest of us trying to manage. Going to the buffet, knowing about the risk of infection, was uncomfortable. We skipped our final dinner at the hotel and bought food from Mercadona instead.

In terms of cleanliness and maintenance, the hotel also has room for improvement. It’s a beautiful resort overall, but it feels worn and in need of some care. Our room had a lingering smell of old urin ocasionaly. Do they clean thoroughly?

The hotel was pretty and clean, and the staff were super friendly. The pools and beach were excellent, as was the food. The only area that could be improved compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at is the animation activities.

The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and courteous, eager to make our stay enjoyable. The food was excellent; varied, plentiful, tasty, and well presented and served. Where they fail is in the state of the facilities, a lack of maintenance, and neglect in the state of the walls, woodwork, and pool walls. They should take note and improve on this issue.

This would have been a 5 star experience and rating if it wasn't for the property cheaping out on the airconditioning in the rooms. Regardless of complaining to the front desk several times, even with the A/C on 10 degrees C, the room does did not cool down more than 2 degrees compared to the outside temperature. In fact outside temperatures in the early morning would be more comfortable than in the room. A week long of uncomfortable nights for a family of 4 and a reason for us not to consider this property in the future.

Die Anlage ist wundervoll, aber schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Ich würde dennoch jederzeit wiederkommen.

Das einzige was man bemängeln könnte wäre, dass das Hotel bzw die Zimmer schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen sind und Bad/Wc ziemlich alt und unpraktisch waren

The entrainment in the evenings on the outside area was very poor. We stayed for 2 weeks (end of July and beginning of August 2025) and there were only live performances and music 4 or 5 nights.
The toilets near the pool need to be cleaned more often during the day.
The queues at the bar in the evening for the all inclusive drinks were too long.
The reception staff very friendly and helpful.

Staff not the friendliest but wasn’t there to make friends. Foods limited which lacks variety. Premium drinks not included in all inclusive. Adult pool area lovely but needs a maintenance.

We really enjoyed our stay and the facilities. However, our room was swarmed with ants, the room was also extremely dirty. The power went out more than once on the same day and it took several hours to be fixed. The food selection was decent, unless you don’t like fish.
Overall, our stay was good due to the number of pools but we wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel was lovely, the room spacious and clean, lots of dinner options, beautiful area, and on the beach, will definitely go back.

Exactly what I was looking for included in one property.

Hotel was generally modern and clean. The separate apartment blocks made the resort feel like a small town. The self service drinks stations were a very good idea and we had no issue with waiting in a queue. There was okay entertainment every night. Smaller restaurant near the beach for lunch and snacks, feels outdated and unhygienic the larger food market is generally nice and has a good selection.

Soweit war ich sehr Zufrieden, Nur beim essen war ein grosses Gedränge.Aber wer kein Problem damit hat, sollte unbedingt schon wegen der Lage dorthin😁Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und der Esencia Bereich top.

Very comfortable stay. Staff were friendly and attentive. Room was spacious and clean - amazing ocean view. Great range of delicious food at the buffet. We’ll definitely be returning!
